will there be an end of time soundtrack?

My farovites are 3, 1/2 then 4 last. Gold was more 'phoned in' for season 4 IMO.

Nah, the season 4 soundtrack is fine- The Source, Voyage Of the Damned, Greatest Story Never Told, Rueful Fate Of Donna Noble, Dark And Endless Dalek Night...

I agree, I listened to it earlier and it's very good.

And what exactly do you mean Fleetlord by it being "phoned in?"

That's a term (or an opinion in my case) to say that effort was lacking compared to previous work . Season 4's soundtrack was not as good as season 3. I believe that year Gold moved to New York and although he worked with Ben Foster who was in the UK, I think he may have been more distracted (making the 'phoned in' term literal as well as figurative :) ). This is a common concensus by not only me but a few others that follow his work. There are good tracks on Series 4, it just overall,l not as good as series 3, but like anything else, its a matter of opinion.

Gosh, I sure hope so.

When I first watched the two-parter, I wasn't too blown away by the score, but upon multiple viewings there were many segments (particularly the one on the link) that I think were spectacular.

I would love to have the score.

LOL I made an mp3 of that same thing last week, Will enjoy it until Gold relaeses the sountrack, however i must point out that alot of the music may be seperated like the above ood music with the Doctor Forever.

I also like the music in background playing when the doctor is talking about the nightmare child and other horrors, and whent he master is zapping rassilon. Ah..I like the whole episodes worth of music. :)

Do you think you could send me a copy of that mp3? I lack the capabilities to do such a file, so I would really love a copy of that score.

Here's my email: ein.2765@yahoo.com. And don't worry, it's an auxiliary email so I don't care about possible spam.

I will just put it on my server and send you the link later today.

Edit: Here is the link to the mp3 of that final scene, it does not have the matt smith act.

You welcome, nothing really speacial just an audio extract from the episode.

Season 4's soundtrack was not as good as season 3.

Well, yeah. But S3's soundtrack was practically a masterpiece with tunes like "This is Gallifrey, Our Childhood, Our Home" or "The Dream of a Normal Death." "All the Strange, Strange Creatures" stands out so much BBC even uses it in the trailers. S3 is so perfect that everything else is going to look like less by comparison.

Although, really, the only memorable tune I can think of from S4 was "The Song of Freedom."

It's special to me!

I really loved that segment of the score, as since a soundtrack still hasn't been confirmed, I'd really hate if I never got an mp3 of it. :brickwall:

So you being able to make one for me is spectacular. So, again, thanks.

By the by, could you tell me what you need to extract audio, if I want to do so in the future? What kind of programs work the best? Are free ones any good? Any information would be appreciated.

Gold's work in S3 -- particularly the Master three-parter -- is like a genuine symphony.

I rather enjoy "The Rueful Fate of Donna Noble," "The Song of Freedom," "Davros," and "The Dark and Endless Dalek Night."

The Series Three Soundtrack is indeed a masterpiece...so many great themes and tracks included in the score. All of the tracks listed above are favorites of mine.
