... AGREED!
?! Wow. I didn't think you'd agree with me.
... AGREED!
Once this became news and the closer to reality of Stewart signing on, am I the only one who feels that everything about "Discovery" has basically moved to the back of people's thoughts? The new stuff seems to be what is generating the most interest now. I can only wonder what will happen when we start getting even more details. "Discovery" has a really good chance of being DS9ed where it ended up being overshadowed by a new Trek way to soon before it had been able to establish something on it's own.

Yes, the Trek franchise is doomed to utter failure. Red Hour is upon us. Festival! FESTIVAL!!!!
This exactly. No, nothing has actually been done yet.
Discovery will be on to season 3 before we get any other new Trek.
I don't think CBS is going to dump whole season's worth of episodes in one time (like native Netflix shows do) That's too advanced a broadcast model for them. I think they were aiming for GoT (where hype builds every week) instead of Stranger Things or OITNB (excellent shows that are binged on in two-three days). Personally I like to bindge (just binge watched The Expanse season 3 in about 20 hours, needed some sleep in the middle), but there is something to be said to prolonging the experience, but only if it's good. STD season 1 was NOT very good (decent, but overall not very good) so if it was dumped all at once, it probably would have ended up being better for it.The argument of them not overlapping thus not being a issue and maybe even increasing interests in "Discovery" because they have signed on because of Stewart and the TNG update seems solid. One possible flaw though is just how people will watch the shows. It people steam whenever they want and binge watch shows it might mean that one show will be ignored for awhile. Maybe they watch TNG during one week and "Discovery" some future month it seems like it could maybe hurt. The question is are people interested in Trek being around all year except us fans? Is their a limit ot just how much Trek people are going to be into at any one time?

This exactly.
I give 50/50 odds at best the Picard thing ever sees the light of day. And even if it does, by the time it comes around, Disco will either have a solid footing or be canceled.
Don't forget "Trek Eye", the show where a Klingon warrior, a Romulan politician, a Vulcan priest, an Orion female, and a simple Cardassian tailor help everyday early 21st century humans make needed improvements in their lives and lifestyles, while occasionally being pursued by the Department of Temporal Investigations for abusing time travel this way. (I'd actually watch hell out of this.Wait until they announce the "Quark and Rom" and "Cooking with Neelix" series, they will surpass the Picard series.
In order of what I'm most excited for
1.Picard
2.Kelvin Part 4
3.Quentin Tarantino
4.Discovery
5.Whatever else comes
