Will the new enterprise be larger than the TOS?

^There not ''tiny'' there ''STRAEMLINED'' ;)

Damn Starfleet and their Jew enju-neers. Always makin' engines more gay and fancified!

YEE-HAW, RUSTY!

'Jew enju-neers?" That is offensive. :(

I Take it Space Therapist, that you have ''NEVER'' seen or ''HEARD'' about a ''Animated'' t.v. Show called ''SQUIDBILLIES'' have you? Are else you would have realized that cooleddie74 was in ''Charactor'' ;)
I'm vaguely aware of Squidbillies, but know next to nothing about it and wouldn't have recognized that (ostensibly bigoted) line as being identified with a character, either. Sometimes, a line which needs to have its offensiveness explained away after the fact might be better skipped in the first place.

Anyway, back to topic. Someone should just do a side-by-side comparison shot with the TOS and TMP Enterprise's next to the nuEnterprise, using the airlocks as a comparison point.

Or perhaps someone could finally do a side-by-side comparison shot with the TOS Enterprise and the TMP Enterprise next to the nuTrek Enterprise, using the bridge domes as comparison points (give or take a few inches).

At least the Abramsprise doesn't have a photon torpedo launch deck on the neck strut. That keeps at least some continuity with the old TOS ship, which had all seen/visible weapons ports in the saucer section.

It does, actually, but it's much smaller - which may give us some sense of the size of the ship. Or not.

Kinda wished they hadn't tacked on that dinky neck-mounted torpedo launcher. I don't know why, but I've always loved saucer-mounted torpedo tubes. *shrugs*

Though since the protuberances emerging from the lower sensor dome are no longer running lights, who knows? Maybe the new ship has BOTH (though I doubt it).

These guys know exactly what they're doing. Some people don't like what they're doing...but based on every poll conducted here, even among hard-core trekkies the really negative folks have fallen to about 5% of the interested population.

At least the nacelles won't have visible, rotating "fan blades" the way the original CLOVERFIELD teaser trailer made it appear. Now that would look just plain shitty.

Well, those "fan blades" are behind the translucent domes. They're an homage to the very high-tech futuristic "fan blades" spinning in front of winkie-blinkie lights on the TOS Enterprise model.

I wonder if any Klingon ship in this movie will look like the classic ones we're used to. Nero DOES escape from Klingon captivity at some point. It'd be cool to see an all-new CGI D-7 battle cruiser or something along that line.

At the very least we'll be seeing some Klingon ships during the Kobayashi Maru scenario, albeit simulated ones.
