Will the average person ever get into space?

I found the above link on Yahoo news where it says that John Travolta turned down a trip into space aboard the Virgin Galactic because of the time it takes to train to go up there and I was wondering that in our life time, for the average person like us, will we ever be able to jump into a space ship, like we do a train or a bus, and fly straight to the Moon or wherever without any prior training?

I ask because like most people on this forum I would like to get into space sometime before I die but I wouldn't fancy having to go through physicals and extreme training just to get there?

Some day? Probably. In our lifetime? I seriously doubt it. I dreamed about that as a kid, but I think we are generations, possibly centuries, away from being technologically able to treat space travel as casually as train travel or plane travel.

I think 'average person' means anyone who did not have to go through special spaceflight training; someone who just buys a ticket to ride and that's it.

I think that, in our lifetime, the average person will be able to take a trip in space (maybe even to the moon!) just like the average person today is able to visit another continent.

Not everyone will do it, not everyone will be able to, but it will happen.
