One of Terminator 4's major plot point comes in the character of Marcus Wright, (Kyle Reese's new BBF) when he discovers, much to his surprise, that he's really a Cylon.
Er, Terminator.
And this is possibly the biggest revelations in the whole story. Yet it has almost no impact whatsoever, because this pivotal 'surprise" has appeared in every trailer and television commercial for the film. (Which is why I'm not bothering w/ spoiler code.)
That's right, they spoiled one of their biggest plot twists in their advertising, thus robbing it of almost all of its power.
Overall, it's a well made and structured film, but horribly unoriginal, and as such, unlikely to generate a lot of positive WOM. I don't really expect it to have any legs at all.
Wright having been assigned by Skynet to get Connor to Skynet Central Command.
I almost wish they would have kept the original,
Where Connor died, they moved his brain into Marcus' body, and he awoke only to kill everyone in the room.
