Will terminator salvation make more than star trek?

One of Terminator 4's major plot point comes in the character of Marcus Wright, (Kyle Reese's new BBF) when he discovers, much to his surprise, that he's really a Cylon.

Er, Terminator.

And this is possibly the biggest revelations in the whole story. Yet it has almost no impact whatsoever, because this pivotal 'surprise" has appeared in every trailer and television commercial for the film. (Which is why I'm not bothering w/ spoiler code.)

That's right, they spoiled one of their biggest plot twists in their advertising, thus robbing it of almost all of its power.

Overall, it's a well made and structured film, but horribly unoriginal, and as such, unlikely to generate a lot of positive WOM. I don't really expect it to have any legs at all.

Wright having been assigned by Skynet to get Connor to Skynet Central Command.

I almost wish they would have kept the original,
Where Connor died, they moved his brain into Marcus' body, and he awoke only to kill everyone in the room.

Night at the Museum 2 has a weekend estimate at this point of $53.5 million. It should make in the high 60s for the 4-day weekend. It was tracking at $80 million for the 4-day weekend, so it'll come in about $10-12 million shy of that.

T4 was tracking at $100 million for the long weekend not too long ago. Those tracking numbers weakened as its release approached, and it's ended up opening way below that. It currently has a 3-day weekend estimate of $43 million ($56.382 million with the Thursday opening included). It'll likely make in the high 60s or just over 70 in its first five days.

T4 makes 15.5M million on Friday. Pretty low. Steve Mason already estimates that Star Trek XI's first weekend will easily beat T4's weekend.

In three days Star Trek made 75 million, or soemthing like that.

Now T4 is estimated to bring in 43 million it's first three days.
So in other words, Salvation (have not seen it and do not know if will since it is lacking the essential part of Terminator, namely Cameron) will only make double the money (as it is popular outside of the US and probably the tv series too is making lots of money elsewhere and could be produced for the non-US markets only making huge profits) of Trek (despite probably being a worse movie)?

I didn't know so much delusion could be stuffed into one paragraph.

Terminator making double Trek's take? Cameron the essential character of the Terminator franchise?

Um, yeah, ok.

The character of Cameron is not the heart and soul of the Terminator franchise. To be honest most people do like Summer Glau and Cameron is popular, but the series is about John Connor mainly. That was one of the biggest failings of TSCC it forgot which characters were the main ones (Sarah and John).

I think he was saying that the Terminator movie series is missing the essential element of director James Cameron.

Looks at the various boxoffice websites that have predictions for how much T4 will make this weekend. Looks like Star Trek is going to win when the year is over.

Regardless of the reviews, T4 will make more money the Star Trek.

T4 has too much (star power, evolving history, man vs. machine plot) going for it. Even with the head start, T4 will remain in the top 5 box office through July 4.

Not a chance. T4 will only be in the top 5 for its first three weekends, tops.

OK. I admit it that I was WRONG!

T4 will be lucky to remain in the top 5 past this coming weekend. Also, I have yet to see it (which may be why the numbers are down as the world revolves around me) as I hope to see it on a IMAX screen this weekend unless it goes to DVD before then .
