Regardless of how much money it makes, Terminator Salvation will probably be a better movie.

Not according to Rotten Tomatoes as of today. It's sitting at 35% the last I check with over 92 reviews. T4 appears to suck.

The reviews of T4 have been far too weak for it to have legs in the long term. Even Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines was reviewed better. I expect a large opening, perhaps above Star Trek, followed by a steep drop off, similar to how X-Men Origins: Wolverine performed a few weeks ago.
With T4's tracking numbers dropping and Star Trek holding up so well, it's a very good bet that Star Trek will make more domestically. Worldwide is still anybody's guess, though.
T4 isn't getting the best reviews or word of mouth. I would expect it to dop as well, meanwhile, Trek's reviews and WoM are consistantly positive.
Damn, is T4 truly sucking? Every sci-fi website review is saying it is teh suckitude! I got my tickets for tomorrow at 8:30. Hoping the reviews are not true! 
Not a chance. T4 will only be in the top 5 for its first three weekends, tops.
I initially thought T4 would make more, but the bad reviews have me thinking that might not be the case.

I'm going to guard balance my words out of my mouth. I heard there were so many mixed reviews on this film, that is, it's too loud to hear. Instead of understand the storyline better.

T4 does a disappointing 13.3 million on it's first day. To compare to another big movie that opened on a Thursday, Indiana Jones 4 made about twice as much as that on it's first day.

Yep. Look at how well Indiana Jones did last year. It turned out to be 40/60 domestic vs foreign revenues - that seems to be the patten among big-name franchises - even when bad WoM kills them domestically, they can make up for it overseas. So Hollywood doesn't give a crap if their movies suck. They make $$$ anyway.
We should be grateful they ever bother to make anything decent, given the lack of financial incentive to do so. Star Trek is probably good just because JJ Abrams gives a shit. It could have made a shitload of money even if it stunk.
Check out Star Trek on metacritic! Apparantly there is nothing else in the theaters right now worth spitting on.
T4 makes 15.5M million on Friday. Pretty low. Steve Mason already estimates that Star Trek XI's first weekend will easily beat T4's weekend.

One of Terminator 4's major plot point comes in the character of Marcus Wright, (Kyle Reese's new BBF) when he discovers, much to his surprise, that he's really a Cylon.
Er, Terminator.
And this is possibly the biggest revelations in the whole story. Yet it has almost no impact whatsoever, because this pivotal 'surprise" has appeared in every trailer and television commercial for the film. (Which is why I'm not bothering w/ spoiler code.)
That's right, they spoiled one of their biggest plot twists in their advertising, thus robbing it of almost all of its power.
Overall, it's a well made and structured film, but horribly unoriginal, and as such, unlikely to generate a lot of positive WOM. I don't really expect it to have any legs at all.
