Will New Trek fill many of the holes left in Classic Trek?

She's not the same Uhura as the one seen in the original series, just some of the character in the new BSG are not the same as the ones in the old BSG.

No. BSG is a remake. Trek XI isn't.

Better to remake Trek than to add one more variation to the trailing end of a lengthening list of repetitious sequels that no one was paying attention to.
