Will Gene Roddenberry be credited/tributed?

You are going to have to provide a link.

Your original post stated that "Abrams got annoyed whenever this movie was referred to as Trek XI", which to me makes him sound like an arse.

He may have very well said that, but you have to provide a link to it.

Yes Gene will be credited, but I'm sure Abrams is annoyed that it was Roddenberry and not his brilliance that created Trek.

There's absolutely no evidence of that that I'm aware of. Why such a presumption?

Trekmovie.com reported that Abrams got annoyed whenever that this movie was referred to as Trek XI.

So? That's not the title. He has every right to want the new film to be referred to by hits proper title, Star Trek. Similarly, the writers/producers of Star Trek: First Contact would have had every right to be irritated by references to that film as Star Trek VIII, since First Contact was not, strictly-speaking, a sequel to Star Trek: The Motion Picture in the sense that Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan through Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country were.

Nobody's blinded, mate. I know very little of his work.

As a Star Trek fan you should be open to new ideas. There's simply no logical reason to be so against this project at this stage.

Give the guy a chance at the very least.

Jesus, you people are blinded by your hero worship for that dickhead.

Considering that I'm not a fan of Lost, or Alias, or Felicity, nor did I watch Mission: Impossible III, I'd have to say, no, I don't hero worship JJ Abrams.

Not blinded at all. Just waiting - trying to be patient - and with enthusiasm. And, since I really like "Lost", and I am pleased that Nimoy is contributing, I have faith that the movie is in good hands.

I'm also fascinated by the bitterness and close-mindedness of fans. But then, since there's been bitterness and close-mindedness in fandom ever since the announcement of TAS, I'm not really surprised.

You mean that asking you to substantiate your claim about Abrams' "annoyance" is "blind?" Really, accepting it at face value would better fit that description.

Blinded? You've provided no proof. What...we should just trust you?!? Just because you say so? :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:

Whatever his faults, I admire Gene Roddenberry for creating Star Trek, and I think it's only fair he gets a credit, that's not the same as hero worship...

Oh. You meant Abrams. Right so...
