Will DIS ever show the Constitution Class starship?

Well, DIS goes for a much more modern and fresh design of Starfleet uniforms and ships...

But ... even the 90's/2000's shows, with their modern uniform and ship design, when they referenced TOS they showed the 60s style: The Constitution Class starship always looked the same, from TNG to DS9, VOY and ENT.

Now, with the new design: Will the new show ever use the original TOS Constitution Class starship design? Or if it shows a Kirk Enterprise, will it be a new design or even the JJ-verse version of the Enterprise?

Right now it looks like, even if DIS is located in the prime univerise, because of the completly new design they will NEVER show the original Constitution Class ship or uniforms from TOS, unlike the shows from 1987 to 2005.

I guess it somewhat depends on the timing of such an appearance:

Are we talking about a one-time special cameo for nostalgia's sake, maybe later in the series? Then yes, I think they might use the original designs, albeit slightly updated with modern effects, just like in “Trials and Tribble-ations”, “Relics” or “In the Mirror, Darkly”.

But if we are talking about a bigger role for a Constitution class ship, spanning a whole arc and multiple episodes, then I guess they will more likely redesign the ship much like they did in the Kelvin timeline movies. Maybe they would even use the sets and ship design from those movies; I'm not as convinced as others that both entities – Paramount's movie Star Trek and CBS' television Star Trek – will always stay this separated, potential legalities aside.

This thing is going to be continually marketing itself to draw new subscribers.

Supergirl brought in Superman to jack up the ratings for the second season premiere; the show had switched networks and was in the process of tweaking the cast and format.

It's not unreasonable to think that Pike's Enterprise - probably involving Spock - will show up in the second season premiere of Discovery. But as someone said, who knows?

If there isn't an in-story reason for the Constitution class to show up, it won't.

And judging by the production values seen in the trailer, showing a TOS-style Connie in DSC would be highly unlikely. But don't be surprised if we see a nuConnie pop up. ;)

This is the issue, some folks want to see a 1960's style Connie, that screams( Hey I am from the 1960's) and this is simply unrealistic. I also don't think we will see the Kelvin Enterprise, it does not fit the style the Discovery crew is going for. I think you might see something closer to the TMP connie, but you will not see a TOS throwback.

In agreement with comments above I don't think we'll ever see the 1960's Connie make an appearance especially as others have pointed out Discovery's production value and aim for more modern aesthetics. Also with John Eaves as one of the shows designers he may aim to change the Connie to suit his image as well as the rest of the shows image. For anyone wanting the return of a more traditional look for the Connie the closest to that would be Vektor's Reimagined Enterprise. Also it's important to note some of John Eaves designs for the NX-01 which if he is spearheading major design could hint at what he sees fits that style of ship.

I suppose what I really expect are that characters from the Enterprise - Pike, Spock - will show up sooner rather than later, not really that the ship will necessarily be shown.

My understanding is that the second design (NX prototype) will actually appear on Discovery as a different ship, possibly the USS Glenn. Anyway this much was implied by Mr Eaves himself.

It was on John Eaves' facebook page, I'm not sure how to link to a comment there.

I think the 1st design is still too plan textured, it looks far to simple and dated IMO. The second is lovely really.

I doubt there's any kind of asset sharing going on between CBS and Paramount/Bad Robot over Discovery.

But if we see the Enterprise or another Constitution-class ship, I suspect it'll look noticably more modern than the original. Maybe along these lines:
