Leno's show needs to be "retooled" and "re-thought" to make it more interesting and funny. Some of the commercials and promos for it were pretty funny. Then it ended up just being a generic, paint-by-the-numbers night-time talk show.
As others have mentioned before, the only real change I see coming is the death of Hulu; I don't see Comcast agreeing to keep it around when it directly competes with their own Fancast.
Leno is alright, but he's no Jon Stewart.
Conan is flailing and Letterman is on his way out. Perhaps this is the end of the late night talk shows.
Yep. Ferguson is so much better its ridiculous.Leno is alright, but he's no Jon Stewart.

Ummm... The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Best Late Night show around.
QFT.
Nobody else on the air right now can hold a candle to this guy. Leno's a little better than Letterman (totally unfunny...maybe would've done better as a hard-news reporter than a comedian), but both of them look like amateurs compared to Ferguson.
BNET writer Diane Mermigas warns that NBC Universal suitor Comcast, the largest cable operator in the United States, is not interested in keeping NBC itself going.
Falling revenues and an unsure broadcast market seems to have Comcast considering putting all of its eggs into the basket of cable, moving shows that survive the network axing to cable properties such as USA Network or Syfy.
However whatever direction Comcast goes won't be known for a while since it's expected to be a year before the cable giant's acquisition of NBC Universal from General Electric is complete, and any action on the network likely couldn't happen until 2014 at the earliest because of contractual obligations.
yes why would a cable operator, want non cable network like NBC, other than putting NBC on cable of course.
but you dont need to get cable to get NBC, Comcast dont get subscribers from NBC, unless they made NBC exclusive to cable (all cable companys, or just itself)
one thing I wonder about is DirectTV has some deals with NBC on shows like Friday Night Lights, I wonder what Comcast will think about that.
If canceling Leno would in any way increase the chances of getting Rex Is Not Your Lawyer onto the airwaves, then have it, Comcast!
Joy
I am certianly dont think going exclusive to Comcast is the way to go, but it could go exclusive to cable.but you dont need to get cable to get NBC, Comcast dont get subscribers from NBC, unless they made NBC exclusive to cable (all cable companys, or just itself)

Maybe but I don't know if they'd be so bold as to risk total viewership numbers for exclusivity. They have a majority stake in the G4TV cable channel but that's carried by AT&T and DirectTV.

I discovered Late Night With Jimmy Fallon over the Thanksgiving holiday, and loved it. It's very different from other late night talk shows; watching Fallon's show feels more like hanging out with a group of classy but relaxed friends than it does talk show.
Should DVR ever be considered in ratings then it may be a problem. I read a few days ago that Leno has a lot of DVR viewers.

I'm having a hard time forgiving Fallon for laughing through sketches on SNL for all those years.
