Wil Wheaton is now making music

This is news to me though it may not be for some of you. I found his new releases on Bampcamp, here's the link: https://wilwheaton.bandcamp.com/. You can also find the audio version of his autobiography, Just a Geek, on there. As far as I know he's the only member of TNG to do an autobiography. He details what lead to his decision to leave TNG, and how he feels about it now (when the book was written).

Ah, come on now Paramount.
Create a new Star Trek series in the 24th century with Wesley Crusher as Captain of the Enterprise.
That would be a great continuation of the Star Trek saga and much better than the current messing up of established Trek history with Ninja Turtles and other stupidities.

Wesley Crusher is to busy exploring different realms and stuff. A Crusher show I think would be more like a Trek version of "Doctor Strange.'

Well, CBS is interested in doing Trek spin-offs, they could do one on Wesley and the Traveler, though I don't know who would watch it.

No, not the Traveler. Just leave him out of this.

Wesley should be Captain of the Enterprise. That would be a great start for a news series set in the 24th century.

I'd like to see Wesley again. The wunderkid who never lived up to his potential. There's at least a guest appearance on Picard's new show in that premise.

I wish he'd have made music in 1987
LOL. His acting career seems pretty dead now. In recent years he's only able to get bit roles in shows like Criminal Minds and The Big Bang Theory. He had a short lived variety show on the Scyfy channel called The Wil Wheaton project that didn't last long (one season) due to poor comedy writing and weak ratings. But you got to admire this guy's penchant for reinvention-from actor to writer, to variety show host to musician, who would have thought.

I'm sure Will is a nice guy, and yes, you've got to admire how he reinvents himself
I just hated his Crusher character, he was so fucking perfect, so much of a super genius, they should just have made him Captain
The amount of times the Enterprise was in the shit and the manchild bailed them out with a bit of technobabble to save the day was ludicrous.

Before, the alternate timeline was said to wipe out the Prime universe. Is it now the case that the Prime universe is left intact and the Kelvin alternate-universe is a parallel universe based on one of the parallel universe theories (any action's possible choices are all carried out in parallel dimensions)? The show is said to show Picard dealing with the destruction of the Romulan Star Empire per the 2009 flick so, somehow, the timeline doesn't alter or wipe out aspects of the future. Unless it does, since we've been told this is a very different Picard, just how the differences are isn't even hinted at. I hope that premiere will be good! Ideally it'd be a "Yesterday's Enterprise" redux where Guinan special guest stars, blinks her eyes and makes that sound Jeannie always had, and *bleep* the timeline is restored and Kelvinville disappears in a puf'n'stuf of smoke.

In the Kelvin timeline, these characters are not going to be the same. The Wesley that appears may be nothing like the one we were accustomed to in the original timeline.

Ditto for Picard, Data, the Professor, Mary Ann, and the rest. But of greater interest, Sir Patrick Stewart, who was previously balking at reprising the role, clearly found something of interest to be lured back. I'm intrigued, but I'm not necessarily going to be surprised if the show ultimately goes in a certain direction. And/or if the show just bandies around aimlessly stereotyped traits the way they did with NuKirk and co for the first two Kelvin era movies ("Beyond" was actually decent, feeling truer to Prime universe...) But isn't that all that casual audiences recognize, the superficial stuff. Stuff like "Kirk always banged green chix, right? McCoy had his one catchphrase and hated Spock, right? The show had enemies like Romulans and Klingons, right?" So there's no moral dilemma or human condition arguing, all NuMcCoy did was say "You're out of your Vulcan mind", Scotty drank, Chekov invented everything in Wenningwad Wussia, etc. Kelvin timeline is just a parody.

Worse, the adults were all dumbed down to make Wunderkid look better. Wheaton was stuck with loads of horrendous dialogue and thankfully later seasons added some dimension, depth, and fallibility into the character.

Having said that, to parody an old cartoon theme song since it fits into TNG season one so well:
Marty Marty Stu,
where are you,
on the Enterprise-Deee-eeeeee...

(Jinkies, that was bad!)
