wife loves TREK

My wife and I have been married for quite sometime now. And at first she wasn't a TREK fan; at all. She loathed William Shatner, and she thought all treks (TV shows--movies) were for nerds.

Well, they all, can't change that fact. But, she has been assimilated! Last week, out of the blue, she wanted to start DS9 all over again. We haven't watched it for years. We're going to wait until we're done re-watching 24 (and those of you who think Logan was a man of virtue in those earlys years? You're wrong. Re-watch season five, as we are, and tell me what you think of Charles (tricky dick) Logan..

Anyway, I we will re-start with DS9 after we are done revisiting 24. I'm not sure what it is with TNG, but wow, it just feels dated now. At least when I watch an old average episode of TOS, its fun. But when I watch a medium good episode of TNG? It just fall asleep, or just tune out, because its tedious at times...

But not DS9. Oh, some of it is. But DS9's characters and attempts at humor and over all cast dynamic is just more accessable, IMO.

My wife even likes Shatner now. I think BOSTON LEGAL had a lot to do with that. After we got into Boston Legal, she started getting into TOS' Movies. She even likes some of the slow-as-an-iceberg episodes of TAS.

Having a wife who likes STAR TREK wasn't a must for me. First off? She had to be hot looking. I say hot looking, because as all good men, I knew I could mold her mind the way I wanted to. Okay, that didn't turn out as good as I hoped...but all the forced watching of TREK did!!!

I picked a husband who liked Trek as much as I did. ;)

Changing her mind is a woman's prerogative, but if my husband dared to hint that he could mold my mind, I'd divorce him so fast he wouldn't know what hit him. Your wife's a saint!

Beauty can fade over time, for both women and men. Shared interests and values make for a more-secure, longer-lasting bond. You can only spend so much time in bed; if you have little to talk about the rest of the time, the relationship has a shaky foundation upon which to build.

I met my wife 19 years ago at a SF convention. We already had a lot of interests in common, and have introduced other new things to each other over the years. We're never at a loss for things to talk about.

But it's a good sign your wife is developing an interest in TOS and DS9. Obviously a woman of taste and intelligence...

I'm a wife and I love TREK, too! My husband tolerates it, but whenever I am irritable or he needs me to distract me from getting mad at him, he usually suggest that we watch some TREK.

I have to say that I love that Shatner has embraced his sometimes cheesey persona...it makes me love him more than ever.

I'm a wife who loves Trek, who has converted my husband. :bolian:

So much more fun when we can geek out together over our favorite episodes.

I agree with you there about TNG and DS9. I still love TNG and see it as a great show, but DS9 seemed to make it feel a little dull now.

Its good you can share the trek together. lol
