Why Weren´t There Two Picards Fighting Soran In The Final Fight?

I bigger question is why didn't Pcard go back to when hips nephew and brother were to die in the fire and save them, and then hail himself to warn himself of the impending threat of Soren? Or why not have Kirk go back to just after he was swept away from the E-B and walk up behind Scotty and Checkov - and then deal with Soren before he becomes a problem?

I haven't read the entire thread, but I wondered why Kirk automatically assumed Picard was telling the truth about the timeframe he came from, and didn't think that Picard was a figment of the Nexus itself....

Damn, plot hole....

If you haven't already, visit ConfusedMatthew.com for an outstanding and very logical take on GEN. He doesn't merely bash it, he has some great ideas on how it could've been so much better.

As for the original question, the nexus idea was really poorly thought out and/or executed. I enjoy the beginning of this film (23rd century) but it's a mess after that. Each time I see it, I like it less and less. Amazing that FC was so good. As for INS, I like it a lot for the most part with the exception of the failed attempts at humor with Data and Worf in particular. Boy, if I could get a version of the film where that nonsense was edited out, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. No nice bead work, no firm boobs, no gorches, and no aggressive tendencies. Well, maybe we could see firm boobs but no jokes about them.

Boob jokes? Hey "Double Picard" justbegs for that one about the two bald-headed men who put their heads together and made an ass of themselves.

But then, why aren´t there two versions of him in the final fight?

Because Jean-Luc realized Soran could easily whup twice his weight in Picards.

Now, if he'd come back with 20 or 30 Picards? That might'a been a fun fight to see.

Then Picard changes his name to Sam Beckett
