I was very impressed with the effort the 90s cartoon took to tell some of the classic stories. I never watched EVO but W&Xmen was very good. Adult storytelling, good use of hero and villain characters, nice plot twists, but shoddy finale. Only the 90s show did the Phoenix saga any justice. The seduction of Jean Grey by Mastermind is an awesome, compelling story, especially if the Proteus psychic vampire plot is woven in too. Relegating the Phoenix plot to the B-plot in Xmen3 seriously weakened that movie in my view.
