No one who understood what the term meant ever referred to Batman Begins as a remake.
I called it a new Batman movie.

Well, that was just one of the latest buzzwords.
It was definitely a sequel, in the sense it was a Batman movie, even if it didn't continue the "story" of the previous films.I know why you said what you said. I wasn't disagreeing. It doesn't matter when a term originates, a buzzword can come about much later, as is obviously the case with "reboot." Buzzwords are often co-opted language that makes the original word lose its meaning, and thus are used "wrongly." I'm sure people called Batman Begins both a prequel and a sequel as well.
