Just thinking, it's well known at this point that there will be several scenes taking place on Vulcan. And we know from A Private Little War that Dr. M'Benga studied on Vulcan. So come on! Can't this tale of a young TOS gang feature Medical Intern M'Benga as well? They wouldn't have to give him a large role, just have him hanging out with Spock, Sarek and the family, maybe help fight against Nero and his funky drill. Not including M'Benga in the Vulcan scenes seems like a major oversight on the part of Abrams and the Cohorts. This would be like having an Enterprise incapable of warp drive.
What the hell is up with all the neglected important characters, anyway? Gary Mitchell, Robert April, Dr. M'Benga, the list could go on. Did they really feel such characters as a drunk uncle and a hoverbike riding cop were more necessary than these pillars of the Trekverse? And furthermore, though there has been much discussion about April and Mitchell, this is the first time anyone has mentioned M'Benga. Come one, people, Spock owes his life to M'Benga! This guy is as important to the Trekverse as Mr Leslie, who I noticed also isn't in the movie. Fandom should be in an uproar over this.
I myself am ashamed to have spent so much time whining about a zero when such a greater crime was evident. So what say the rest of you? Do you agree that M'Benga should be in this movie, or are you already taken in by a flashy trailer which admittedly doesn't look half bad, despite there being no M'Benga?
