You’re cherry picking. Most episodes nobody but the big three did anything but comment and you have to go like eight characters down into Disco to get to the ones without much history.

The whole point is that I don’t have to go farther than the bridge. In fact I’d say the bridge crew appears more frequently than in-between characters like Culber, so why is there a rule to keep the bridge crew constant but not give them more and more to do? Why not swap them out mysteriously, or simply say that Bryce or Detmer or Owosekun would be reassigned even as the core DSC crew stays together? Oops, can’t do that, apparently they’re part of the promotional “family”. But give them more to do? Well, not that either.

I can definitely tell you that when ENT premiered in 2001 there were people around saying it looked way too advanced for being over 100 years before TOS. And then the Romulan cloaking technology was in violation of canon. And Vulcans aren't supposed to act like that. And why is there a Starfleet ship named Enterprise before April's, Pike's and Kirk's starship?

Even if TOS was focused on the big 3, that's not some ideal that Trek needs to revert to. DS9 showed even non-regulars like Nog and Garak enriched the show.
I was around back then. We didn't realize how good we had it. Now we're trying to figure out how the Enterprise NCC-1701 bridge and uniforms look completely advanced in Q&A, that same bridge looks primitive in the Cage, then back to advanced again in time for Discovery. My only in-universe theory is that the Cage bridge is a swapped in bridge for special occasions (the Rigel mission mentioned in Cage) and the Cage uniforms are some bizarre form of dress uniform (hey this is the same Starfleet that thought the Motion Picture uniforms looked great).

Or it's not a direct historical recreation.

I think it's silly to talk about the A/B plot as if it's not something Discovery does. Discovery does this all the time. Some examples:

Season 1: All the Klingon shit in the early part of the season basically happened on a parallel track to Discovery. Choose Your Pain, Lethe, and Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum all had pretty conventional A/B plot structures as well.

Season 2: New Eden was A/B (Typical planetside/shipside split of the crew). Point of Light had four different plots. Light and Shadows and Through the Valleyof Shadows were both A/B stories as well.

Season 3: The spectacular Forget Me Not was a clear A/B story. Also, Sa'Kul and the season finale jumped back and forth between the ship and Saru & company trying to calm "the child" down.

It's also worth noting that even when episodes don't have A/B structures, they still pepper in scenes which are clearly meant just to give secondary cast members something to do that week. A lot of the banter between Stamets, Tilly, and Reno in spore drive or engineering for example. Or in the third season the "no nowhere" story of Adira and Grey later in the arc.

Since they're not part of the main cast or even the secondary cast, there's no requirement for them to be anything other than "prop characters." They're bottom listed co-stars, they're used exactly as much as they need to be. Even if we did go back to 90s style A and B plots, that still doesn't mean that gang would be getting more to do. If anything, if Disco did such an episode, it would probably be something like Michael, Saru and Book get embroiled in an Emerald Chain smuggling ring on the planet of the week, meanwhile, with Stamets and Culber's anniversary coming up, Tilly prepares a surprise party, but everything goes wrong. Rhys, Bryce, Owo, Detmer and Nilsson are still just going to sit on the bridge spewing jargon out and maybe hang out at Stamets and Culber's anniversary party.

I never thought enterprise looked more advanced. It didn't. All the tv screens everywhere and regular buttons on the consoles. The tiny submarine like bridge. The tos enterprise was luxurious compared to the nx.

See I know that and you clearly did but the angry fanboys didn't. Ask Doug Drexler about the aesthetic differences between the NX-01 and the NCC-1701. He'll tell you how the angry fanboys were mistaken.

The design and interiors of the NX were one of the slim highlights of the show.

"Why the hate for Disco?" Some people just listened to the wrong songs. They can't all be Donna Summer.

Pretty much the same situation with the walking dead. I stopped 3 seasons ago. Got tired of a new big bad every season. The show going nowhere in its story and as i hear it still hasn't.

Except Mirror Mirror showed an accurate 23rd century Enterprise, the Vulcans behavior was somewhat mitigated by the reveal of Romulan infiltrators, and we already knew there was the NASA space shuttle Enterprise and the Enterprise pictured in the rec room scene from Motion Picture before the Constitution class Enterprise. The cloaking thing was an unforgivable eff up.

And the ring ship also pictured? Must have been a historical document error...:guffaw:

The Vulcans were insufferable, nigh unforgivable, :censored:holes, though Archer gave them little reason to trust humanity so that blade cut both ways.

The Vulcans between 2063 and 2154 were insufferable pricks to humanity. That being said Archer and even worse bigots and outright xenophobes on Earth didn't make relations any easier between the two species.

Vulcans were insufferable assholes in TOS too. It wasn't until the movies where they became the all trusted Vulcans we know now.

Too many i think they don't like the new format and style of the show ,to me it just feels like it could be any sc fi show or the Michael Burnham show
