Why Potroast...

Is there some kind of inside joke with Voyager about Potroast. It seems like a least once every few episodes Janeways replicator or Neelix by his own hand is burning Potroast into some kind of a smoking black blob on a plate, what gives??

Well, I believe it was mentioned in four episodes total, so it wasn't quite as common as all that. But I do think it is safe to conclude from this that Captain Janeway (and probably at least one other member of the crew) likes a good pot roast.

Janeway's from Indiana, and pot roast is a midwestern favorite. But if you read the background novels, "Pathways" or "Mosaic," it shows Janeway as not very domestic. She's not especially enamored of home cooked-food and prefers replicated; apparently, her lack of enthusiasm on the domestic front even extends to programming of food replicators, which might be a bit of an art even in their culture.

I don't mind pot roast on Voyager as long as its Neelix who is in the pot roasting.

For once, man.

For once.

I wish they would actually have the audacity to order a hamburger!
