But like Trujew said, its the only way this stupid speculation will end. Just because he made the role doesnt mean he needs to be in any production with Star Trek in the title. Nothing is more sad and pathetic than fans that keep holding onto an image of an actor thats 40 years old. Kirk is dead. Enough of the whining nostalgia

Yes, it's the only way for the stupid speculation to end, but I don't want it to end badly enough that I hope Shatner DIES. That just took it too far for me. Plus these "Bring Back Shatner" people don't need any more fuel to turn themselves into martyrs. 
I hope Yeffrey will die soon, so I don't have to wince whenever I read his insensitive and crass comments. Also, since the "Bring Back Kirk" crowd seems to cause him so much unrest, it will be the only time that he can truly find peace.
And assuming Yeffrey practices what he preaches, he will not find my comment in any way inappropriate. :thumbsup:

i did start off with "Sadly" So that absolves me from getting any joy out of you dying, though the lack of comments like this would be a bonus.

I should hope I don't need to remind you that freedom of speech only protects you from the government. Anyone else, especially a privately-owned message board, can censor and shut down any other man, woman, or child they feel like keeping quiet. Much like what I expect to happen to this thread by the end of the day.

As was stated above, the issue isn't with Shatner hating. It is with "I hope he dies" commentary.

I have no problem expressing my opinion on this board about Shatner, and I don't like him very much either. Hell, I started a thread awhile ago asking: Who else doesn't want him in the movie? Yet, my dislike for Shatner was never something that went so absurdly deep, that I'd hope for the actor to die to shut up his more fanatical fans. Don't try to play "martyr" role either please. It's just as annoying when rabid anti-Shatner people do it too.
