Why not beam people through the pathfinder data stream?

Well, it could be equally argued that BOTH ships were quantum duplicates and the original Voyager and its crew were split to make both of them. Meaning both had just as much a claim to being "real".

I think that would have been an interesting episode. Have the first person develop some syndrome from DNA reconstruction issues. Then they would have tried it with bad consequences and a new episode.

They should have bargained with the Borg for Transwarp technology during the Species 8472 crisis. Janeway was committing a bad enough act anyway (providing the Borg with a method to commit genocide), the least she could have done was hold out for more.

The Borg on the other hand might not have wanted to share their TW technology.
Besides, the crew of Voyager (at the time) knew next to nothing about TW ('Threshold' was taken out of canon unfortunately - because that would have at the very least likely gave the crew means to increase their maximum Warp to something that could get them home very fast either way).

I know that Janeway could have bargained for much more than just safe passage through Borg space... still, one has to try and justify this through in-universe means.
Perhaps the thought never crossed her mind?

We've had characters doubled by transporter hiccups before (Thomas Riker anyone?).

Do you really want to take the chance of having two Harry Kims mucking about?

 It's a dilema that might have been dicussed. Harry probably would have volunteered.
Well, Harry is already a quantum duplicate (Deadlock). :p

I think this explains why Harry never got promoted. He wasn't technically a registered member of the crew after Deadlock. 'real' Harry died, and 'copy' Harry is nowt but a stowaway!

If janeway had any sense she'd have stopped feeding him and told everyone to pretend he wasn't there....

He was so bland. Dullest of the dull. Every other character had things about them that made them interesting. Passions and tastes. Distinct personalities. Then there was harry. He's like a head of cabbage. Or iceberg lettuce. Without dressing, not mixed in with other foods. Just a head of iceberg lettuce or cabbage. Not even the colorful cabbage. The white one that just makes you gassy. That's Harry.
