Why no Alternate Universe Story on TNG

^Why, they say you have a healthy fantasy life and a vivid imagination, and a generous spirit in satisfying and promoting the same in your readers. Also. Kinky.

  Works for me! I have to admit I love your thinking.

Warmest Wishes,
Whoa Nellie

Honestly, I can't see the bland TNG gang being interesting in the MU. We already saw an evil Picard and Data (Locutus and Lore) and in a way, an evil Riker (Tom). The rest, who cares? Worf was in the DS9 MU but he just seemed like his usual self!

Tom Riker wasnt evil. Just screwed over.

It's a shame TNG didn't 'claim' the Mirror Universe before it was abused by DS9. Abused in the sense that DS9 totally missed the point of having a 'mirror' universe in the first place.

^I agree. I so totally hate the DS9 Mirror Universe. I would have loved to have seen TNG do it, and do it in the vein of the original.

While I don't hate what DS9 did to the MU (although I do agree with some individual comments here and there), I was EXTREMELY disapointed that TNG (my favorite Trek series)never did a MU episode. This is why I was glad when DS9 (my other favorite Trek series) kept doing them.

The MU was the single greatest thing Star Trek ever did, and I really enjoyed Dark Mirror. You know, over the years I've heard fans complain about how the DS9 episodes canclled out that book, but in a way, that's not true at all. Ironically, TNG's own "Parralells" provided the answer. After all, if the regular universe can have 285,000 other copies, why can't the MU?

DC Comics "Mirror Universe Saga" in their first-run of TOS comics was also a worthy sequel, where our characters get to crossover and inhabit the Earth and universe of their counterparts.

My favorite run of Trek comics. :)

I loved the first run of the Trek comics after TWOK and before TVH, especially the stories of Kirk and company on the Excelsior . I also loved the pencils of Tom Sutton, he gave the Trek universe a look that was unique and while it didn't match exactly, it had the feel of the old science fiction comics published by Gold Key and others.

Dont Yesterday's Enterprisce count?

Great alternate universe ep, but the question is really about the *Mirror* Universe.

Diane Duane's book was great. Too bad we didn't see something like that onscreen.

What makes the Mirror Universe interesting is it's close relationship with ours, but there could still be two, diverging from Kirk's accidental trip there - Empireverse and Allianceverse.
