I don't think marijuana is cool at all. Tell cool to all the young people in mental wards because of it.

Just as a side note, during a hearing on revising the local no smoking in bars law, a person asked about smoking marijuana where people were drinking...

That said, I do wonder how anyone can still smoke with those prices going up so high! That's really cruel if you ask me.
No one is the entire history of this planet has ever died from smoking marijuana. EVER.
What that "article" and "study" fails to account for is the amount that is smoked. Cigarette smokers on average smoke a couple of packs a day, around 40 cigarettes. No pot smoker, not even the most abusive, will come anywhere close to smoking that many joints to their head in a single day. Let alone do it day after day after day as cigarette smokers do. It is that constant repetition on a daily basis that makes you more likely to develop cancer. You get more carcinogens from car and truck exhaust sitting in traffic than you will ever get from smoking pot.
And, BTW, there are ZERO teenagers sitting in mental wards because of pot. Now, something else may have landed them there, and they may have also smoked pot. But it wasn't pot that put them there. Saying it is is just a cheap out without looking for the true cause of their illness, and they will likely never be cured because the true problem never gets addressed. What, did you just watch Reefer Madness and take it as gospel?

Excellent point. Some people smoke pot because they're numbing themselves similar to why some people drink a lot. However, some just drink or smoke because they enjoy it.

Statistically, heavy marijuana smokers are slightly more likely to suffer from mental health issues but as we all know, correlation does not equal causation. No causal link has ever been established. It is just as likely that the link is a result of people using weed to self-medicate for existing issues.

Wait until smoking gets banned in enough places and the health insurance and price per pack means only the wealthy can smoke and I bet it will get cool again.

I agree that niether MAKE a person cool. However, if a person enjoys smoking either cigarettes or marijuana and accept the risks involved as a good trade off, I'd say its cool for THEM.
