when transporters are down?
That's why I couldn't roll with the last part of NEM, because why not use the shuttles either to "shuttle over" or beam over? Instead it's gotta be Data doing a mad dash. Silliness.Because they think we're dumb and won't notice. Because they made a show with so much technological redundancy they struggle to create plausible peril.
It was already comm badge sized by Nemesis. Add in the transwarp beaming formula from a few years later and one tap can send you ridiculously far!Size reduction progression. Within a few years, they'll reduce the size of the transporter equipment to fit inside a comm badge...then it'll be a subdermal implant...![]()
Most of us are too dumb to notice, including me. There is(however) at least one episode where the transporters are down, and a shuttle's transporter is used. It's either on TNG or Voy, I don't remember. I also feel like there's at least one episode where they are like "what about the shuttle transporters?"

We weren’t supposed to notice...when transporters are down?
Or the next technology will be the starship transporter.
Wait, nvm.
The stupidest thing about the transporter pin thingy in Nemesis, is that the little transporter device would also have to disassemble, transport, and reassemble itself.
I'm pretty sure it was a one-use device, so I presume it left important parts behind. The stupidest thing about the transporter pin thingy in Nemesis, is that the little transporter device would also have to disassemble, transport, and reassemble itself.
