Why don't Disco Klingons sing?

The Wormhole

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
Klingons in the 24th century used to sing all the time. They had drinking songs to let loose and have a good time, Klingon Opera was a thing, and on DS9 we saw the crew of Martok's ship sing songs while on duty and when going into battle. This was fun and made all-Klingon scenes livelier and entertaining.

So why isn't this being done on Disco? We have do dreary and excruciating scenes in which the Klingons stand and stiffly deliver soliloquies at each other. Imagine how much more enjoyable T'Kuvma's opening scene in Vulcan Hello would have been had it been an opening number instead. Or L'Rell's ultimatum to the Council in the finale. Hell, you could probably craft an entire Opera around the tale of Voq Tyler.

Thoughts, anyone?

Full on retcon? Though the houses were not unified. Perhaps the battle songs popped up after unification. Or T'Kuvma's cult did not partake in any of that. We really didn't get much of a peak at Klingon culture in this show, just some things to move the plot along.

With the way they talk, do you think they can really carry a tune? If. They. Stop. Talking. Like. This. Then they'd be pretty good at singing Klingon Opera.

If this were the early-2000s, they'd have eventually had a Musical Episode. Then we would've seen for sure.

The light-bulb went off in my head. The Klingons went through a Musical Dark Age. The 24th Century was a Renaissance. Along with this Renaissance they brought back some Gold Standard Classics from The Days of Kahless. Kay-lesh!

Like the Kir'Shara trilogy fron ENT, the Disco crew will find Kahless's secret mix tape, and reform Klingon society. They will also learn that they've been mispronouncing his name all these millenia.

They can barely open their mouths with all that rubber attached to their faces. Asking them to sing is being optimistic.
