Why does Germany get the cool novel covers?

While I am most certainly American, "American" isn't an ethnicity in the way "English" is. Americanism is about political citizenship, not ancestry.

American is an ethnic group, though we tend to prefix it with "Native." The problem is that we in the United States of America also use the word "American" to mean "a citizen of the United States of America," which tends to confuse the issue.

Fair enough, but I'm still not ethnically American. ;)

People all around the world do that, too. (That is, if you substitute "American" with the equivalents in various languages.) Nobody, to my knowledge, uses "American" without the prefix "Native" to refer to any ethnicity.

Indeed. Regardless of what may be seen as right or wrong in defining people from the USA, it's normally American referring to a person living there than the native population.

The Destiny covers are great and the Before Dishonor as well. A lot of the new covers are really good, wish they'd be used here. Might help sales if they would make covers that were interesting.

I also thought Linda Park as well. I checked Memory Beta before on got on here and noone updated Jasminder's bio pic yet. I'm sure someone will soon.

^ Why should anyone change her biopic, that is the first draft for the novel's cover, they're not 100% content with the model for her and it is probably changed to look more Indian before there's a final cover.

Seems as if they've already changed the cover for Den Frieden verlieren (and the model), unless the cover version in this new catalogue (an update of an older one from a few months back) is an older version:

EDIT TO ADD:
I Have asked about this version on the CC forum, and the reply was that this is a "newer alternative version", so I guess both are in the running. For "internal reasons" they aren't able to provide a bigger (better) version of this draft at the moment.

In other news, they have posted character drafts for Soleta and Zak Kebron on their facebook page, as they plan to use such pics for the backcovers of the NF novels, and have said that they also plan to have new covers for the New Frontier books.

they really ought to do some different ships. they look like Babylon 4.

Except for the big one in the corner, that one is the Phoenix. Possibly the NX-Delta, they used the same cockpit set for both.

The Phoenix's nose was conical:

Definitely the orbital inspection pod:

They used the Phoenix set in both the inspection pod in Broken Bow and the NX Alpha/Beta in First Flight. But you're right in that they photoshoped it from a frame from Broken Bow.

that's terrible. the scar's all wrong, the hair's too short, he shouldn't be stubbly and he looks a bit like Channing Tatum.

Well, according to the comments they're aware that Callhoun appears to young and not weathered enough, so there's still hope that the final version will be a bit closer to being a believable warlord turned Starfleet Captain.

Calhoun's face kinda reminds me of the default face for cale Commander Shepard in Mass Effect. Of course, I did just get off a week long binge of the game, so that may be skewing my view...
