Why do we still care?

I feel that ENT's first two seasons slipped into that acceptable but nothing special pattern that VGR did from seasons 4-7. It wasn't until the third and fourth seasons that I started to really embrace the series. I wish Berman and Braga had handed over the reigns from the beginning.

I'm not sure why I still bother about Enterprise, apart from I like making icons! :lol: Seriously though, it had a lot of potential and the 'what ifs' are often more interesting than the 'canon'. But, where in the past I felt very biased toward some aspects of the show, I can now see the appeal of others.

Of course we will always wish characters had taken the journey differently, but you can't please everyone all the time, right? I think it's a testament to the characters that we do still find (sometimes new, and sometimes old) things to discuss and analyse. Before becoming interested in Enterprise, I was an Alias freak, and while messageboard communities have died down a lot there, this one is still lively, which is fantastic! :) Due in part, I'm sure to being part of such a huge franchise.

Anyways, they still can live on in the wonderful world of fanfic, which is sometimes much more enjoyable than the real thing! :p.

A lot of people feel the way you do, but having just rewatched all of ENT, I can say that, IMHO, there are more than a few gems in S1 and S2. As I have said before, they had some clunkers too, but the good often gets overlooked.

Agreed! I love:
* Broken Bow
* The Andorian Incident
* Shadows of P'Jem
* Fallen Hero
* Unexpected
* Fusion
* Shuttlepod One
* Shockwave I
* Carbon Creek
* Dead Stop
* ANIS (sue me)
* Stigma
* Cogenitor
* First Flight
* Judgment - despite being a Undiscovered Country rip-off

I'm sure someone will mention a few more I wish I'd included.

I think this sort of list really shows the great episodes they were able to put together early in their run. Cogenitor, Carbon Creek, The Andorian Incident and Shadows of P'Jem, IMHO, stand up to some of the best work in all the post-TOS series.
