Why do we never see Yeomans any longer?

You are, with age at least. Majel was late twenties in 1964. Rebecca Romijn is in her 40s.

I'm not surprised, I'm really, really bad at judging the ages of people in older movies/TV. I think it's something about the makeup they used back then that makes people look older to me.

In other words an unnecessary position when the goal is to make an entertaining tv show. Doing paperwork isn't really something that needs to be shown.
Depends on how the character is written, a lot of what Lt. Sulu did on a average shift was probably pretty boring. Picard sitting in his office for four hours, goes to lunch, four more hours in the ready room.

Having yeomen about doesn't mean the show is going to focus on them, but (if written well) can be a interesting part of the overall mix of characters. One of things that DS9 fans put on their list of favorite things is the engaging reocurring secondary characters.

I'm just shocked that young, svelte Rebecca Romijn first played Mystique twenty years ago, meaning svelte Rebecca Romijn now middle-aged.

Which means that Jennifer Lawrence, the actress chosen to play the younger version of Romijn's character Mystique is about the same age as Majel was then. Romijn has aged very well.
Romijn was 27/28 during the shooting of X-Men. Lawrence was 20 during the shooting of X-Men: First Class. They are currently 47 and 29, respectively.

I always thought it was goofy that all the yeomen on the Enterprise were young attractive women, especially given early lines from BOTH Pike and Kirk complaining about not having a man in the job. They seemed to be saying that a woman serving as a personal yeoman was an oddity, and yet... they're ALL women. I wonder what happened in-universe to cause that change in trend.

Also I hope yeoman are definitely a thing in the Pike show and I hope it's not a job for only the young sexy ladies.

I assume that the very concept of a personal yeoman is obsolete now. Much of what we saw them do in TOS is probably now taken care of automatically. For instance, why would a captain need a yeoman to bring food, when they can just go to the replicator?

And I highly doubt yeomen will turn up in SNW. We never saw them on DSC, did we?

There's a character who is identified as "Yeoman Colt" in the credits to the Such Sweet Sorrow two-parter, but in the episodes she's manning a bridge station and doesn't do anything particularly "Yeoman-like" (as defined by how they appeared in TOS)
So hopefully that was just an homage.

A Federation-wide awareness campaign, perhaps? Do they still use hashtags?

I don’t see why they wouldn’t. Yeomen were a thing on the Enterprise at least in both “The Cage” and TOS. SNW is also the most likely time we'll see both male and female yeomen.

I wouldn’t look to DSC as to whether yeomen will appear or not on the SNW series. The Discovery crew doesn’t even wear the TOS era uniforms, "The Cage" uniforms, or anything resembling them. They lean more towards the uniforms worn during Archer’s time.

...Why would the style of uniform be relevant? Every style would appear to feature a color appropriate for the job (bronze in DSC, apparently), and DSC is particularly benign here in having rank markers nobody can actually see.

…because if your trying to set a show a decade before TOS, and “The Cage” has established what uniforms should be like, the uniforms for the period should somewhat match. Especially if there is a flashback to a decade the events in DSC, and the uniform style on Discovery is standardized for that decade.

Should bring Keenser over from the movies.
God, I hope not. His character got tiresome inside of two movies.
Supervisors write those things personally. Way back before Adobe Acrobat and fillable forms, we had to have our admin clerk transcribe the final wording to the form.
Who would fill out the evaluations for the admin clerks?

People aged faster back then. Medicine wasn't as good, plus folks smoked and drank more, and exercised way less.

Please don't give people any ideas. The last thing we need is a companion to the "Why No Women Captains?" thread.

As I suggested in another thread, enlisted people are like the essential workers of the navy. Even if they don't make a lot of function sense within the Star Trek world, I think now is as important a time as ever to focus on them. And having a yeoman as a main cast member makes the most sense, even if it's Dragonborn Colt. Though, they'd have to recast since they just used a stuntwoman under the makeup.
