Why Do Trekkies Bash Michael Bay?

^ FYI, there were a ton of writers on the script, including uncredited bits from Tarantino and Hensleigh. And a pair of writers that were brought in by Connery just to punch up his dialogue ended up changing a lot of the other characters' lines too.

Maybe the Trekkies won't be so hard on Bay when the directors for the next two Star Trek movies will be announced as Stephen Sommers and Brett Ratner.

My litmus test will come with the new Transformers film. If they show more discipline in plot construction than they did in the first go-round, I'll be thrilled about them coming back for the second Trek.
