pop bubble wrap so much?

I got a parcel yesterday and it has the large bubble wrap which I like popping more than the smaller bubble wrap. I have already popped about half of it.

Do you do pop or not?

I like it because, just for a moment, it makes me feel like an all-powerful god who can pop any bubbleworld she wants!

Bwahaha! :bolian:

I just found this interesting fact on Wiki

Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day" is celebrated on the last Monday of January
We should all celebrate it next year.

Edited to add link to Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day site.

I love to pop the plastic bubble wrap so does my daughter.

My daughter will get one side l will get the other side and we let it pop like mad.

Ya, i dont get it. Watched a couple grown women jumping up and down on giant bubble wrap the other day, and couldnt understand how they thought it was fun. I just found it annoyingly loud.

There seems to have been a serious done into why stress is lessened as a result of popping bubble wrap but I can't seem to find details of the study online.

After reading a few sites about the history, manufacture and people's opinion of bubble wrap have come up with my own theory.

When people are angry they often try to lessen their anger or stress by destructive behaviour such throwing cups, slamming doors, kicking dogs etc but such behaviour is short lived. However popping (i.e destroying) the bubble lasts a lot longer allowing anger/stress to dissipate. Also people often end up falling into a rhythm when popping which in itself is comforting.

Anyone agree with my theory?

Yes it is loud and fun.

But jumping on it would have been a different experiece.

Hmm...personally I think popping bubble wrap is fun because you get to make loud noise in a harmless situation. Most things that loud involve destroying something that would actually involve a lot of force (which you could get in trouble for). So I think there's a sense of "getting away with something" yet it's such an innocuous activity. There's something almost slight mischievous about it. (And if you're picturing exploding your boss's head while you're doing that, it's such a "small" activity, unlike throwing or kicking stuff or yelling that if you're careful, no one will ever know. ;) )

Yes. It's fun. I really like a big strip, then I put it on the floor and roll back and fourth over it in my wheelchair.

Randy...that may add to my theory. How often do you get to run over stuff with a moving vehicle and not get in trouble or do serious damage? ;)

(I have occasionally been known to hit empty plastic bottles, ketchup packages, and other stuff when driving through a parking lot, for this reason. How often do you get to run over something yet it's absolutely harmless? ;) )

pop
pop pop
pop pop pop
pop pop pop pop pop pop

I do that at work to, I like to take the larger bubble wrap and run it over with a Forklift, lots of extra loud pops that way

The trick is to make sure nobody sees you. This is one advantage the wheelchair has over the car.

But, you didn't hear that fro me.
