Why do most straight women think that Spock is more attractive than Kirk?

I never understood it.

I guess it must be a guy thing to think that the guy who sleeps with a lot of women, a ladies' man, and always is being followed by a harem gets the girl, but maybe it is his more logical nature.

Eh... well, being a Spock fan and more of a logical Vulcan myself, I guess that that increases my chances one day!

Speak out, ladies!! I would like to know.

For a lot of people, the more exotic person is inherently the sexier one.

I never got it either, but when TOS was in first run, Spock had the female following that wrote more letters. I mean, I liked Spock, but I would have guessed Kirk was more attractive to women.

I was never sexually attracted to Spock (although I used to wish I had him around to help me with my algebra homework); Kirk was always my favorite.

Eh...I was more of a Chekov girl (yes I fell for the manipulation but I was young at the time and just discovering boys) but I understand completely why some would find Spock attractive. He was exotic and mysterious and some women like the strong silent type. They believe they can be the one that he will open up to. Kirk was good looking and all that but he was to....easy. Spock was a challenge. I personally was never into men who slept around a lot like Riker (supposedly early Tom Paris. I think his reputation was over inflated personally) It has nothing to do with morality. Not sure what it has to do with but I just find that character type boring.

My wife prefers kirk. From the perspective of her Mediterranean background, he is actually the more exotic looking one I suppose. Which suits me fine. Every day I seem to resemble shatner more. Reckon he will loan me a wig?

Funnily my wife, who is not a fan, always remembered Spock from her childhood and not Kirk! She always said that Spock was the better looking character and that the Shat was overrated!

Spock is hairier so that's more appealing to me (as a bear I find smooth men to be weird, lol), but never really looked at Kirk or Spock in that way.

Kirk is up front, confident, one might even say arrogant in some respects, especially later in the run. I think if Kirk had shown more of the self-doubt and vulnerability that we saw in the early episodes more female viewers might have preferred him, empathising that they could be the one to ease his loneliness. Ironically, letting him seduce women regularly, and often as a tactic, could make female viewers less trusting.

Spock is bottled up, a man with hidden depths, profoundly loyal, capable of great love if the right woman can bring it to the surface. In episodes where his guard slips, he comes across as someone fighting to control loneliness. I can see why this could be appealing to more female viewers than Kirk.

Ha ha - oh yeah, and Spock's hairy chest. :P

I'm not suggesting that women genuinely want relationships with these men. Most women I know struggle to tell the difference between Star Wars and Star Trek.

Nah, Spock would be in the friend zone with me. Well, so would Kirk but I found him more attractive. not his women seeking nature but his looks, and perhaps the way he mused.
