Why didn't they arrest intendant Kira

At the end of Resurrection mirror Bedeil says he's a thief and irredeemable at heart after stunning mirror Kira

I was like why not arrest her-she's not only committed crimes in the MU but in the prime universe as well-I mean yeah destiny but come on she's probably guilty of a lot of things.

Anyone care to explain why?

Formally she should've been arrested, yes. They just didn't think of taking that character in that direction though. It's not intuitive in creative terms to do that.

I wonder if they could cross apply laws from two universes-I mean what's illegal in the prime universe might be legal when Intendant Kira is all bathing in her own face.

Would be an interesting development don't you think?

You could do a spin-off with Intendant Kira playing all the naive Federation types for fools. But quite frankly she's better off at home if it's just DS9 we're talking about here.

Better off in the MU I assume you mean?

The fanfic idea which crossed my head was something along the lines of she being tried for various crimes, legal debates and angst over the legality of actually trying her, character development for the intendant herself(why the hell is she such a narcissist?), maybe have some action with MU cardassians/Klingons trying to get her back and philosophical musing about the application of laws and morals being either universal(trans-universal?) or simply local.

Sound interesting?

She can be locked up for some stuff she did within Federation or Bajoran jurisdictions. She can't really locked up for other stuff done in another jurisdiction that didn't impact upon on those powers or her citizens. She maybe even liable for locking up Bashir and some other abuses of Federation citizens that don't come to my mind immediately. There must be a hefty penalty for trying to make off with an Orb. Attempted robbery of England's crown jewels wouldn't just be met with a "naughty, naughty, better luck next time" response that's for sure. There's often a certain light-heartedness in Trek when beloved villains get up to what are really pretty heavy-duty misdeeds.

But sure you could do some off-screen thing about Mirror Kira being arrested in Prime at some later date and her various antics after that.
