Why didn't Khan regenerate on Genesis?

Another vote for Khan was atomized. Also, the whole Spock being regenerated into a child was a bit thin to begin with

Can I just say that, joke or not, I quite like the idea of the Genesis Planet being possessed by Khan's vengeful spirit. Someone ought to turn that into a story...

Jokes aside, according to the genesis wave books the initial wave erases all life thats there at that time. While not cannon, I think the explanation for the healing properties, like what rejuvenated Spock, made sense. Once the initial wave has passed, and the new matrix takes hold, there is a time where there is still a lot of metagenic flux, this flux can hyper stimulate the healing process. This was shown in the novels by Admiral Nacheyev. She was injured, badly burned on half her body. Geordi applied some metagenic ooze to her wounds and the end result was half her face was fully healed and looked 30 years younger then the other half.

Khan I just say this thread is truly amusing. And I agree Khan dust probably cant get beck together to well. And didn't the planet try to eat Kirk. I think it was possessed by his spirit.

They didn't want to turn Khan into the Master.

There evidently was some brief consideration of trying to resurrect Khan for the following movie - simple studio-think; they were so happy with TWOK and with Montalban they wanted a sequel to the sequel.
Why am I recalling an article from 88 or 89 about shelved/trash-binned TNG story ideas (Starlog?) where they had tried to figure out how to bring back Khan in the 24th century.

I can see it now! Star Trek III revenge of Planet Khan! Khan turns into a planet and eats other planets.

If I remember correctly. the entire nebula, including the ship inside, was converted into the soler system. Khan didn't regenerate because Khan became part of the planet.

Maybe in a few million years a Khan-like race will evolve but who knows.
