Why didn't Khan regenerate on Genesis?

A thought crossed my mind while posting in the caption contest. So, Spock dies, his torpedo soft-lands on Genesis, and the planet magically resurrects him a new body for his katra to get transferred into. So, we know that the Genesis planet can rejuvenate or perhaps create a new body using a person's DNA.

So, why didn't Khan get a new body too? His DNA was part of the planet too (along with the entire U.S.S. Reliant), so what was so different that he couldn't come back too?

He was at the center of the blast. Remember what Spock said, Genesis would destroy preexisting life in favor of the Genesis matrix. Spock landed after the process was already started.

That joke was REALLY TERRIBLE.

Khan blew to bits; Spock's dead body was "buried in space" shot into the Genesis planet in the Photon torpedo casing.

Perhaps he was trapped in the core of the Genesis Planet, continually regenerating and dying again in "Hell's heart."

Actually, Khan's consciousness was part of the entire genesis planet, that's why when Kirk and party landed on the planet, the planet went into double overdrive destroying itself, Khan was trying to take Kirk down one last time.

then again, maybe not.

I'll agree on that.

And definite epic win for "The Undiscovered Khan Tree". :bolian:

Didn't you see him? Saavik and David passed right by him, and never noticed him either. Yes, that's right: he was...

The Undiscovered Khan Tree.
Being regenerated was hard on his skin, so he developed The Rash of Kahn.
This was followed by The Search for Spots.

Reusing an old one, but a goodie:

When they found Khan, the Genesis fallout had given him an extra ear, right in the middle of his forehead. Yes, it was the final front ear.
