Why did they get a black guy to play Scotty?

Pegg looks like Pegg except with darker hair than I thought he had.

I agree that Cho looked like Dr. McCoy at first.

Yelchen looks about 50 years old in that shot, so needless to say, I thought he was Pike.

Urban didn't look like anyone. Possibly Kirk.

It's so kwazy!

Based on all of this, I can't wait to see what the new Enterprise looks like.

Why did they get a black woman to play Uhura???

I do not think I will be seeing this movie.

The Enterprise will be mistaken for a romulan ship, because of all the green and the bad hairpiece.

No, it's okay, because they made her hot.

Didn't you read the original post?

They already changed Uhura from an average looking black chick (Nichelle Michols) to a hot black chick (the new chick.) That's enough.

Obviously, the goal would be to remove all black people, so as not to offend movie-goers. However, they are stuck with the original cast, which (unfortunately) contained a black person, most likely due to that pesky civil rights phase that we were going through at the time (which is long over, thankfully).

So the best they can do is make Uhura hot. Sort of like buying a junker of a used car and then giving it a nice paint job. I mean, what more can they do?

Let's cut them a little slack. They are doing the best they can with what they have to work with.

I just noticed they made Spock blue. Excuse me but that is just fucking ridiculous. I'm all for equality and stuff, but having a Blue Man play a green blooded vulcan is just 7 shades of wrong.

Mr. Abrams, you just lost my 3 ticket buys to see this movie.

...but having a Blue Man play a green blooded vulcan is just 7 shades of wrong.

But having a Blue Man (or possibly a group of blue men) play a musical instrument might be a stroke of genius.

Maybe we will be revisiting the 'space hippies' concept in Star Trek XI, which was possibly TOS' finest hour.

(We may need a photo-shop here.)

I love J.J. Abrams. He gets it.

Samuel T. Cogley, you just inspired me to make this challenge in the Photoshop thread.

I don't want to see any black in this new movie - the space should be a really dark blue, or dark-ish grey.

Pants should be a really deep brown. Spock's hair and eyebrows should be green.
