I'm all for equalality. But this is fucking ridiculous. If they wanted a new black character in the film they could have invented a new one out of their imaginations instead of turning Scotty black. They already changed Uhura from an average looking black chick (Nichelle Michols) to a hot black chick (the new chick.) That's enough. But to cast some Tuvok look alike at Scotty is beyond the pale (no pun intended.) I dont think I'll be seeing this movie. Although it's still a year away anyway so maybe I'll have changed my mind by then or they will have recast.

Ordinarily, this thread would confuse the hell out of me, but I saw the title a few minutes ago and -- today of all days -- it made perfect sense to me.
The reason is that this morning, I looked at TrekMovie.com for the first time since Friday and saw this image:

And the first thought I had was, "Who is that black guy in the red portion of the poster?"
I also thought the guy in the upper left was Bones for a few seconds. I couldn't even tell he was Asian. Those are some lousy pics.
