Cause William Shatner is more of a Star Wars fan.

The Shat was probably just busy. I think he operates a "first come, first serve" approach to job offers and appointments and its important to remember that unlike Takei & Koenig he has a great many other focuses in his life beyond his association with Star Trek.
If he had sour grapes he wouldn't have partied it up with Nimoy, Pine, Urban, Quinto & Abrams at his charity horse show this past couple weeks.

I'm not seeing Shatner being intimidated away from being anywhere that he wants to be by the possibility of crossing paths with "Oh My!" Takei.
Well if you don't care then why in the world would you even bother to read a thread titled: Why did Shatner not show up at the LA premier...hmmm?????
Some of us do care, me not being particularly one of them...but it would of been nice for him to be there....not necessary but nice.
