Any there any special feature at all on these new collections? I was looking at them, and they don't say anything about special features.
But a new encode is assumed.Paramount has revealed that it plans to re-issue all of the classic Star Trek films on Blu-ray in new 50th anniversary-themed Steelbook packaging on 7/18 (at least internationally – see this listing on Zavvi– and probably here in the States too). Do note, however, that these are the same discs you probably already own. There’s no new content – just new packaging.

LOLWTF, they're using the "Director's Edition" DVD logo for TMP:

new artwork for TMP at the linkUnfortunately, the group product shot we posted of all the Steelbooks (which we took from Zavvi) showed that the Star Trek: The Motion Picture Steelbook would feature The Director’s Edition. However, we immediately knew this to be an error, and indeed it was – the studio marketing artist who created that shot simply used the wrong cover art for the film. We now have the final cover artwork for that Steelbook and, as expected, it is indeed the theatrical cut released previously. You can see it above right there. My thanks to David Fein (who, as many of you know, produced The Director’s Edition) for sending the final and correct artwork over.
This, basically. While Paramount owns all the rights to the pre-existing BD and DVD supplemental content that they've created, anything else new beyond that will cost them $$$.Like everything with Paramount, it likely comes down to money, and them not wanting to spend it.
i'd like more details on that.a new feature-length documentary.
Trekmovie article.CBS and Paramount have teamed up to combine every TOS cast movie along with the three seasons of The Original Series, and as a special treat, this box set is the debut of The Animated Series on Blu-ray, plus exclusive swag all in one 30-disc collector’s set.
