Whose the best Vulcan?

Reminds me of a movie scene blooper I once saw. Tense music, close-up of a hand with graffiti spray can writing MURDERERER on a wall. Spoiled the effect a bit.

Years ago the company for which I worked was opening a new site. Press, local politicians, the whole deal.

Including a cake that said "GRAND OPENENING".

 - I got a similar one - my Dad was a window decorator and sign-maker for WT Grant's dept store right after WWII. They had him make a banner to stretch across the whole store interior one Memorial Day. It was so big he had to paint one letter, fold the sheet over, make another letter, fold the sheet... When they hung it, it said "HAPPY MEMEMORIAL DAY."

Leonard Nimoy's Spock
Mark Lenard's Sarek

For me, the problem with Tuvok was that I felt it was Tim Russ acting like a Vulcan rather than the way Nimoy and Lenard just seemed to be Vulcan, though I also saw the first two when I was very young and had years to take in their performances, versus less of an impression from Tuvok.

My favorite grammar bugs are you're versus your (so good they highlighted it in a Friends episode) and it's versus its, which I know well but still fumble sometimes.

In a college public speaking class my professor was reviewing peer critiques with me, and I was complimented (by two different people) on my use of 'grafts' and 'statistices'. I can only assume the latter is the plural form of statistics.

'Statistics' is already the plural of 'statistic'.

There is a "best Vulcan"? I realize that Spock is the most famous Vulcan. But there's a "best"? I think it's all down to individual preference.

The one that's killing my OCD lately is when someone gets accepted into a Facebook group, they post "Thank you for excepting me." That's the opposite, you goof!

And, on topic, in all the years I've watched Trek, I still haven't seen anyone be "Vulcan" as well as Nimoy and Leonard. I will say, tho, that Jolene did an amazing job as an "early" Vulcan who hadn't quite decided about emotions yet. I really enjoyed watching her performances, which was about the only thing I enjoyed about Enterprise. :)

I was hesitant at first, but Tim Russ' Tuvok really hit all the marks for me. If not the best Vulcan, then right up near the top.

Wish we could have gotten more of Cmdr Sonak or seen David Gautreaux's Xon

Wish the annular confinement beam had gotten more of Cmdr Sonak, too...

Is it me, or did he sound a bit posh?

He was also in a couple of episodes of TNG. And other shows and movies, albeit played by different actors.

I assumed the OP was referring specifically to Mark Lenard's Sarek, but your point that he also appeared in TNG is well-taken. Perhaps the OP didn't care for his appearances in that show, or forgot about them (as I apparently did in the moment :p ).
