Whose names would you put on the wall?

I'm just happy to see that they used the version of the wall with Harry on it in SFA.
Yeah, that was a real nail-biter. There was no way to know how that whole thing was going to turn out. Could have gone either way, could have been the imaginary no-Harry wall.

Not so imaginary. I couldn't find it on cue, but @Danja did.

I am kind of disappointed with some the names.
Julian Bashir was noted a lieutenant. Did his career in Starfleet end shortly after the end of the Dominion War? Surely, after everything that happened he would have advanced in rank. Even Harry Kim move up the ladder.

It's obvious from ranks like that which make no sense that the wall is not a record of "final" ranks.

They're probably saving the reveal of what the wall actually means for some poignant teaching moment.

Even Harry Kim move up the ladder.

It's very conceivable. He's only 29 as of Voyager's return home, and he probably gets a 2-rank bump within days, if not hours, of the end of the series. It was clearly stated that he was one of Voyager's best people, so his low rank wasn't due to any deficiency on his part. And, if he averages one promotion after that every 5-6 years (Riker racked up four in a similar span), he's a LCDR by 34, a captain by 45, and he's sticking on Admiral's pips before he reaches age 70. And even if he gets slowed down a bit (such as staying a captain fir a decade or two), retirement age is probably around 90 by the 25th century.

And some of the individuals whose names appeared on the wall would not be remembered at all hundreds of years later.

Depends on the specific accomplishments that got their names inscribed there.

^ It could be (A) their final rank, or (B) the rank thry held when they did whatever made them famous. I tend to suspect A, even though it's a bit sad that Bashir and Nog either had relatively disappointing careers, or were KIA.
