Whose Getting Assassins Creed 2?

Well I've got it, played it for a few hours on the weekend.

So far I'm underwhelmed - it's almost exactly the same as the first one, except with Italian language and accents substituted for the semitic accents from the first game..

^
I'm going through the first game again and there are just many game play enhancements - the most important of which is the in-HUD map and the varied mission structure.

Definitely a really fun game. A vast, vast improvement over the original. And a pretty easy 1000/1000 game as well. Especially compared to the first, where you had to collect like 600 different flags.

Only thing with smoke bombs is that they don't work in certain scripted situations. It's the GTA4 problem all over again.

True, but combat is easy enough.

They've announced DLC:

"Battle of Forli" in January and "Bonfire of the Vanities" in February. Without giving anything away, it's obvious where these 2 packs fit into the story.

Btw, anyone else getting slight screen tearing? Or is it just me? Not a big complaint, just noticed it every once in a while.

Yeah, that's the missing sequences from the game. I'm looking forward to seeing how they work into the game itself though. Hopefully this means that there will be some kind of mission replay mode will be introduced.

I'm sure all the people who missed the Fly Swatter achievement are hoping you can reply them too.

But ya, it would be really sweet if they let you do that. I'm left wondering where they could fit in future DLC, if they make more, which I hope they do, I love this game.

I've spent some more time over the weekend playing it and I must say I am warming to it..

The map could be a bit better though. Should be allowed to zoom in more and maybe a little colour would help.

Also, why do I have to keep going back to the starter city to empty the money chest? Is there a way around this limitation later on (for e.g bigger bank chest) ?

^

Trust me after a while you will have too much money and you won't know what to do with it.

Yeah I keep buying every single thing available (including paintings lol) and I still like 200.000f at the moment.

Don't forget that you can use fast travel to go back to your villa.

Don't forget to blow all that money on the fight training too. For 360, you need some of the trainings to get 2 achievements.

You can pay for fight training ? I thought you unlocked moves as the plot progressed. Am I to believe unlike in Creed 1 you can't carry on playing the game after you completed it ?

You can continue playing the game after completing it. Which is a major plus to the game. It's fun to run around with a fully upgraded Ezio finishing off side-quests. And there are a few moves you need to purchase to use. None are vital, or even very useful. You can learn:

Throw sand (free)
Heavy weapons
Long weapons

Finished the game and
that was interesting if not a little anti climatic with the last fight inside the Anmius but I enjoyed The Hideout bit, intresting to do it along side scree credits.

Still very confused about the plot

9 out of 10 for Creed 2. :techman:

"The Truth" does a lot to explain at least everything behind what happens up until that point. The game does take a huge left turn though, yep.

^ Did the truth last night and its an interesting video but still doesn't make sense really...

It's Adam n Eve sure and they stole a piece of Eden but from who and from when ? they show human slaves in some sort of factory and what or who is chasing them ? I half expected the video to show the beginning of the event that nearly wiped out life mentioned by the hologram.

It's a great game, easily a 9/10, but I hate the story.

Maybe I'm a boring person, but I'd have preferred it if it had been a straight story about a secret cult of assassins who assassinate historical figures to make the world a better place, all this apple and sun-being stuff is too much for me. If the third game is set in 2012 and is heavily focused on Desmond trying to save the world from a solar flare, as hinted at the end of this game, I may have to pass on it.

^ I have to admit number 1 felt like it had more assinations that were also a little less linear to perform. Did some acievement work early (48 out of 50) with the feathers and Audtorie cape in each loaction (need feather one to unlock cape) left to go but don't think I will bother.

The meta-story gives them the excuse to move the game several hundred years anyway. I must say that I'm probably more interested in the weird conspiracy X-files stuff than I am in the Ezio or Altair characters though.

And, I felt like the Truth ended up being an "origin video" of sorts. It explains why the Templars are so disaffected with religion at the very least.

Which brings up my big problem with the game - it's based completely on Christianity or at least the big three monotheistic religions. The previous game hinted that it defined the Greek and Roman religions as well... but what about all the other cultures around the world at the time? It's a very narrow focus.
