I liked them better before they became a couple. Their relationship was all about the UST, and once that ended, so did all the fun in their characters.

My first thought on seeing the thread title was Paul & Jamie. I'm SO frustrated that the DVD seasons stopped after season 3.

When I was very young I thought that mum and dad Huxtable were the best couple around. I thought they were wonderful.
Later I saw Luke and Laura from General Hospital as a great couple. Now, I wonder why because they did the most cruel things to each other.
Now I would say SF wise:

Troi and Riker
Picard and Crusher (I know, they never strictly were a couple but I wanted it so much)
And non SF wise:
Dennis and Sharon on Eastenders (well, he's dead now and technically they were more or less related but I still think they were really cute together)
Turk and Carla on Scrubs
