Who's In The House? (SPOILERS)

Sources at Twitter say that Sladen and Knight's apperances with Tennant are part of Tennant's final scene as The Doctor. Is Sarah Jane the last person to see Tennant's Doctor?

Defintely not final (its 18.153 and Verity Newman is 18.155) but certainly very near the end.

RTD did say this Regeneration would be different from any seen before so maybe instead of being somethnig sudden he gets to prepare for it this time.

Luke almost gets hit by a car but the doctor saves him. Luke yells to his mom that the doctor has arrived "its....you"

Luke says "Mum, it's him. It's the Doctor" and they both stand and watch the Doctor walk back to the TARDIS.

the scene was 153 of episode 18 (2 scenes before Verity and the bookstore scene) so very near the end of it all.

Luke & the Doctor, what could have been.

I just cant see someone who isnt Tennant as the Doctor, he is MY Doctor, he is the Doctor I think of when im creating my funny ideas in my head.

I share the same feeling. Ecchelston was the first doctor I got to watch and then when he regenerated I was crushed.

THEN Tennant came along and it was a fun ride. 3 years feels like such a short time with only 13 episode for each season.

We'll see if Mr. Smith(I wonder if 11 will use that cover name) can be as good. Or i'll have my first Doctor to hate :D

I have said many times that I would like to see Luke be a companion in Doctor Who, and now Tennant is leaving, it feels like that can never happen now, which is crazy becasue I know Matt Smith will still be theDoctor, I just cant picture him with Luke like I can Tenannt.

more to the point if the Doctor is going around saying good bye to people, does this mean he knows about his regeneration in advance? and can we expect to see him say goodbye to Jack?

It sounds like the Doctor is only briefly visiting everyone. Unlike Stolen Earth/Journey's End where they tried to work everyone into the plot in as large a way as possible, in this we may only get brief glimpses of the Doctor checking in on his former companions. From the description abaove, it sound slike he appears, pokes his head out, and leaves before Sarah Jane even gets outside. Could be the same with Donna: he shows up, Grandpa sees him, and he vanishes before Donna even comes outside.

Seems like he's looking for someone from his past, but he doesn't know who: god thing most of them live in the 20th and 21st centuries! That narrows it down! :techman:

I wonder if this is to do with something Ood Sigma has to say?

I was thinking whilst watching parts of The Next Doctor earlier, the Doctor should go visit Jackson Lake as well.

I'm wondering more how Ood Sigma is going to show up on Earth, in the 21st century.

Telepathy is one thing...but time-travelling telepathy??

I have considered that as well, but have decided to wait & see what happens.

anyways im going to bed now, Planet of the Dead tomorrow, ive got 3 new Doctor Who books to read, so good night all.

I'm maybe getting pessimistic, but I have a bad feeling Ood Sigma just appears before the Doctor at the end, standing mysteriously, says a cryptic comment, and we get no explanation until the special airs...where it turns out it was all 'telepathy'

Ood Sigma could very well be a "what what what!!!" moment, we have all come to expect & love.

Ood Sigma turns up at the end of the second Special which is set in the future; though he does appear to be solely in the Doctor's mind. (That's from set reports from the shooting of that episode.)

The warning in POTD comes from another source.

More Sarah Jane, Luke, Wilf, and The Master is great, but I don't want Donna back. Don't get me wrong, I loved her in season 4, but her story is over and I don't want them undoing the tragic ending of "Journey's End."

That being said, I'm all for Wilf as the season 5 companion!

Unless you're RTD in disguise (in which case thanks for all the hard work and best wishes for the future) you can think that her story was over but you can't say that it definitely was.

Indeed the very fact that it was a tragic ending kind of proved that it wasn't as you/he have said on many previous occasions that you/he don't/doesn't believe in doing those sort of endings.

GOD YOU PEOPLE CAN BE SO THICK!

just because she's appearing doesn't mean the tragedy has to be undone. the very fact she's appearing and missing the Doctor doesn't undo the tragedy, in fact I'd say it underscores the tragedy. and if the set report is to be believed, she does miss the Doctor, therefore no head-go-pop.

and maybe Donna and 10.5 are needed to undo the metacrisis and allow him to regenerate fully.

OK, I'll bite.

In the new series, The Doctor is always hanging around modern-day London and battling aliens left and right in the middle of the city, complete with national, televised pleas of "HELP US DOCTOR" coming from the Prime Minister and shit like that. With the way they sent her off, they have three choices: Get the fuck out of modern-day England forever and stop having national emergencies there involving The Doctor (which would be nice but we know is definitely not going to happen), have the audience assume the next time some big national crisis happens that Donna spontaneously combusted when she heard about it (I could get behind that), or go back and address the stupid way they left her off and fix it somehow.

So, really, it's just more of the absolute clusterfuck that was Journey's End's script continuing to shit things up.
