Who's getting Conquest?

That looks a lot like Encounter with extras, but seeing as i don't have a Wii and i got burned on both versions of Star Trek Legacy(PC/360) i think i will be passing this one by.......

Wow, i never thought those word would ever leave my mouth Star Trek wise... :(

Well i hope its good for you guys...

I might. The gameplay seems alot like Starfox Command, so I'd be able to understand it.

It would be great if there were cameo appearances by major characters in this game...

No, I only play PC games since I don't own a console but even if I did or it was on PC i probably wouldn't since the game will feature no diplomacy and is basically a chopped down version of the 2000 game 'Birth of the Federation' without all the good stuff.

I'll probably get it, since its only $14.99 for the PS2. The graphics look very similar to ST:Encounters, which wasn't terrible (in fact, it was a lot better than Legacy, despite being a budget title).

It will be interesting, however, to see if it will be as difficult to find as Encounters was when it was first released. Man, on release day, NO ONE seemed to be able to find that game anywhere. Most stores had never even heard of it.

Why are they making this for the PS2? What about the Ps3 for those of us who don't want to shell out an extra 100 dollars for the backwards compatable ones? And why release a game for an inferior platform? Just asking.

The Wii and PS2 have roughly similar specs (the Gamecube was between the PS2 and Xbox in terms of power last generation, while the Wii is about twice as powerful as the Gamecube). The PS3 has far higher specs then the Wii or PS2, so they would pretty much have to redo everything graphically to release it for the PS3.
Besides, at this point the Wii and PS2 are still selling more units per month then the PS3.

True, but i would attribute that to the high price of the PS3 and the low number of titles. Once the price comes down and more games get done for it, that will change.

My guess is that this is a quickie budget game that they're throwing out there to have a new Trek game for the holidays, and development costs are a lot cheaper for the PS2 and the Wii than the PS3. And, as others have said, the PS2 is still very much an active, viable platform for new games, given that there are far, far more of them in use out there than PS3s.

I'm down. Just got my Wii a few weeks ago and I'm definitely interested in this one. Looks like a cross between Armada and Starfleet Command both of which I enjoyed. All I ask is that the Wii controls are implemented well and it's fun to play.

I'll second the query for a PAL-land release date as Eurogamer has none at present.
