Whoa! Second promo for Supernatural season five....creepy

So, to recap. Sam is squirrelly, Satan is running around loose on Earth, the female character(s) that people have been annoyed about (your versions of Hiro and Claire?) are dead (?), Sam and Dean are mad at each other but still loooove each other and will kiss & make up by the end.

Castiel is good, bad, we don't know?

What happened to their dad played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan? Did he die for good (and with access to heaven and hell, how can anyone die for good?)

Has the role of Satan been cast? Can they cast Hayden Panetierre? :rommie:

Is S5 the last season?

Well Satan is about to be running about the earth, yes he is cast. The actor played Jacob on lost but I don't recall his name.

The 2nd Ruby is dead (the first was generally liked) but they couldn't afford her for the 4th season, but the character would still be dead, so at this point doesn't matter.

They currently have two reoccuring females (though how often who knows), one is a fallen angel, the other is the demon Meg. Ellen and Jo (from the 2nd season) will make an appearance in the 2nd episode I believe.

Dean and Sam are family, but unlike the Heroes never say they love each other. And their conflict from last season did really build throughout the full season. I don't think the writers will have Dean really bonding or trusting Sam for a good while. But since the show's primary theme is family, it is sort of expected that they will get back to trusting each other though I doubt it will be in the same manner.

John has been dead since the start of the 2nd season, and when hell was briefly opened he escaped and is assume to have gone to heaven (or wherever in the SN universe people go after they die that isn't hell).

Well so far on the show only two characters have come back from being dead, thats Dean and Sam. Dean from hell and Sam, we don't know could be either.

Castiel is generally believed to be good, though he has done things that humans might not agree with. But he has finally openly defied his superiors (and what he has always assumed to be the word of God), but he has started to question if God has actually be given any orders at all.

As for if Season 5 is the last. Well the planned arc for the show (at least the battle between Heaven & Hell and how it relates to the Winchesters) will be over this season. Anything beyond that is up to the CW. And since last year the show did what no other scripted show on network television did (having year to year growth in direct comparison to each episode last year) it has actually made the CW think about keeping it. If the CW survives for another year it is very possible that the show will continue. The actors have 6 year contracts and I don't think either of them are willing to violate those contracts.

And its interesting, I love the character of Castiel. But I am not so far, a fan of him being in the stand alone episodes (he will be in some, how many I have no idea. Anyone hear how many episode he is contracted for?). Afterall if I never wanted to see Jo, Ruby or Bela (or Bobby or John) be apart of the Winchesters on a regular basis for their stand alone episodes, I don't want Castiel either.

Hey, Temis, don't knock the brotherly luuuuurve on this show. It's a damn sight better than what we'll ever get again on Heroes between Peter and notreallyNathan! Sam and Dean's relationship, as fucked up as it's been portrayed this season, is one thousand times more interesting than what the brothers Petrelli ever got or ever will get now that it's not really Nathan anymore. The Heroes writers really should take lessons on that score.

Michael J. Hall as God. Nice thought, but I doubt it'll come to pass. ;) Either season 5 or season 6 will be the last. Supernatural won't go beyond that. Neither Ackles nor Padalecki wants to re-sign and one won't do it without the other. That's a definite. There won't be a season nine of Supernatural. Me, I hope it ends this year. Kripke's going to play out his arc as planned no matter what--he's on record about that--but I don't know where they go after that. It's all anticlimactic IMO. Of course now the network is finally paying attention when the show should be ending.

If only Peter and Nathan had a fight like this once. I'm still in shock that they never once dealt with the fact that Peter shot him. They're not exactly the kings of follow through on the Heroes staff.

Ahhhhh, brotherly love

It's a damn sight better than what we'll ever get again on Heroes between Peter and notreallyNathan!
That's okay because - weirdo that I am - I've always preferred
Peter/Sylar to Petrellicest.

They better not stint on THAT! :klingon::klingon::klingon: They'll probably try to throw Sylar into scenes with Hiro or some nonsense like that.

ACCCKKK!!! :wtf: Temis, you're a strange bird. Shoot, if only Heroes would let Adrian Pasdar go, he'd be slick as hell as one of the four horsemen. I loves me some Adrian Pasdar.

No one/Sylar. Sylar's character is too complex for the Heroes universe. Sylar was so great during season one, but it seems like they just don't know what to do with the character anymore. It's a shame, really. Though I'd rather watch him than that god awful brat Claire. Why does Quinto want to stay anyway since he's been in a big feature film now?

You want some male/male eye fucking of the highest order, you've never experienced Dean and Castiel, Temis. It could cure you of this Sylar addiction by half.

Sylar's character is too complex for the Heroes universe.
That's only because the writers are writing him in five different and mutually exclusive ways. Don't like this week's Sylar? Tune in next week when he's done another 180. The only thing the character is good for at this point is slash pairings with other characters. ;)

Sylar was so great during season one, but it seems like they just don't know what to do with the character anymore.

They didn't know what to do with him in S1 either.

Well now he's "Nathan." Do you think the writers will subtly touch upon the complex questions of what makes a person a person?

Nooooo. :guffaw: Who am I kidding? The Heroes writers are worse than the Smallville writers.

But they have given Claire a lipstick lesbian friend, I understand. Claire will have issues. I'm sure that'll be handled sensitively in a way that respectfully explores homosexuality and sexual identity. No titillation factor with Claire.

Give me Dean and Sam any day of the week. I can't believe this show doesn't have you addicted, Temis, with all the time you spend on Heroes. I think you have to see the entirety of Supernatural to appreciate the ebbs and flows of the Winchester brothers and what brought them to this point.

It's a great song. Jen Titus was sharp for agreeing to do it. She's a little known Canadian artist trying to make it. I downloaded it myself.

Season four DVD is officially released today. It's sitting at #2 on the general bestsellers' list at amazon. That's overall--not just sci-fi/fantasy. It was at #1 for 2 hours, but House has climbed back on top. Supernatural DVDs have never climbed that high on the general list before. :techman:

Cool. Remember Titus Welliver from Deadwood? He played Silas Adams. He's been cast as the first horseman of the apocalypse according to Kripke's new interview in TV Guide. Since they're not actually going to be on horses, I wonder which muscle car the directors have picked out to suit him. I love them being in cars...it's clever.

Titus Welliver also played Jacob's rival on Lost. And the guy who played Jacob is going to play Satan? Anyone else from Lost? Harold Perrineau? Michelle Rodriguez? Maggie Grace? :p

Maybe Ian Somerhalder and Dominic Monaghan can be the Winchester cousins who take over the business for season seven.

Bah. I'm still ticked about all this Four Horsemen business. Totally ruined my idea for a SPN story I'd been kicking around in my head. :p

Welliver's a good choice, though.

Well the storyline for the final season has been hooked. I watched the most episdoes of Supernatural ever last season and now that Lucifer has been freed and the Apocolypise is on the horizon...I'm ready watch permanantly. Anyone have any luck on finding the music that was played in the trailer yet? The singer sounded familar..

O Death

Click on the "downloads" link on the page that comes up. On the next page, scroll down towards the bottom and you'll see a download button for the song. It's sung by Jen Titus. She's a Canadian singer brand new to the business. You wouldn't have heard her anywhere before.

Excellent. As of this hour, at least, Supernatural season four is the number one bestselling DVD on the general bestsellers' list at amazon.com. That's movies and television combo category. Not just the sci-fi/fantasy category.

Excellent. :D
