Who wants this movie on home video NOW?

I'm sure I can get a street copy if I desire...a nice lady sells them on a gorgeous blanket that's ready to be folded up and spirited away in a moment's notice up the block. Shall I take orders? Of course there will be a handling fee attached to each order.....naturally.
Of course, there are those pesky clauses in the board rules about intellectual property and solicitation. Probably best not to start taking orders just yet.

But Clauses and Rules were meant to be broken  !!!!

But not by me of course...you know I submit to your will whenever you swish around your mighty sword ;).

And of course I'm only kidding!! Yup I'm a josh-er.... I have never purchased one of those illegal dvd's because they are more frustrating than anything to watch....besides she hasn't gotten them in yet :guffaw:

If these copies exist in the quality they're purported to be in, why do they never end up on the torrent system until months after the cinema release, and only a month or two before the legit release?

I'd pay good money to have Trek on Blu-ray right now.

I'm sorry but "copies of the movie" and the word "quality" do not belong in the same sentence.....:p

Yeah, I don't need to see TAR TRE. besides, If I want to see shaky and out of focus, I can just go to the theater and see it on the big screen.

Naturally, then, we must start a letter writing campaign to get Paramount to release the movie quickly.

Once again, a fan letter writing campaign shall give us what we want!

You guys are so impatient.:lol: When I see a movie its still fresh in my mind for some time and I really have no desire to see it that quickly. There are some exceptions to the rule of course. But 2 viewings is enough to last at least a year or two. Wanting the dvd so soon after release and after watching it a few times is overkill. You kow what they say about "to much of a good thing". I wouldnt over indulge. After awhile the movie will become stale for you. Its not even a great movie IMO and I bet many who continue to rewatch will see more and more flaws with it.

A November release date is more likely. But if you want it now, they are always bootlegs (but nobody do anything illegal, that's for the police and the government to do).

And yeah, I want it now.

I can't wait for the DVD release. I will be going to see the movie again on Saturday but all it will do for me is make me wish I had the DVD!

Given how soon DVD's are released these days, it'll probably be out next week anyway.
Personally i'll be waiting till its £3 at HMV, which will probably be around next march if Iron Man is anything to go by.

I want the DVD. To rent. Hopefully Paramount will get greedy and release it sooner than normal,

So when is it coming out on blu-ray?
There have been rumors of something being out as early as July, (possibly just a ploy to lock people in on steeply-priced advance orders) but November seems to be the surer bet.

Well, Iron Man came out in theaters in May of last year and IIRC was on DVD/Blu-Ray late Sept. (I bought it on my birthday, Oct. 15.) And that was a Paramount release as you know.

I've been introducing my 7-year-old nephew to the Star Trek shows on DVD: all of the TOS episodes, some of the movies, some seasons of the other series. He'd really like the new movie, but it's too scary on the big screen; he didn't want to go see it. So I need a home version to show it to him.

That's the Mininova Russian cam  Was pretty decent actually.

Anyway, it's a popular misconception that all pirate copies are lousy camcorder efforts and will break your DVD player. Anyone remember the same BS being spouted 20 years ago with VHS?

Long before it was released on DVD, I was furnished with a copy of Die Hard 4 that was apparently downloaded from some secret internet side. It was grade A widescreen, and was thus far better than anything openly available on the torrent network at the time.
