Patience... All good things will come in time. ;)

This board will be much bigger when the other 3 shows, besides Picard, also come out.

Maybe they will do just a separate 'animated section' with TAS, Lower Decks, the Nickelodeon show in it.

I'm curious how the board will be laid out. Production eras? The current format is broken with Discovery spanning 2 distinct eras. Not that anyone asked, but I'd do...

Current Treks (with subforums for Disco, Picard and later Section 31, NicTrek, Lower Decks)

Kelvin universe

Berman-era Treks (TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT subforums)

Classic movies I-X

Original/Animated series

The Forums are fine just the way they are.
There's no sense in making things complicated.

Just add Star Trek: Picard after STAR TREK: Voyager and put a plus sign after the
STAR TREK SERIES | 2364 - 2378+ section title.

Then put STAR TREK: DISCOVERY (Season 3) after that and it will become the first Trek Show to be listed in two different eras.

If They want a bit more clarity They can add STAR TREK: DISCOVERY (Seasons 1 & 2) to the descriptor in the 2151-2170 category.

That is of course unless T'Bonz wants to spend a day or two completely rearranging the Forums...
In which case I say more power to ya.

Don't see why there can't be a Picard forum now.

As for organizing the forums just put the old series in one group and the current ones (Picard, Discovery and whatever the other ones end up being) in another, preferably close to the top so visitors see them first.

Perhaps arrange the forums by TV production era rather than in-universe timeline. Roddenberry Trek (TOS TAS), Berman Trek (TNG DS9 VOY ENT), Kurtzman Trek (DSC PIC). This way there's a good home for the upcoming lower decks, nickelodeon, section 31 shows.

There's a thread going on about it in the QSF forum right now. I have a feeling there will be some rearranging of the board sooner rather than later. It's inevitable, and I think the trailer for Picard made things even more real that there is going to be a lot more Trek on the horizon.

It's a process. They have to decide the forum arrangement and they have to find moderators. Those aren't instantaneous.

Not sure how the forums can be laid out now especially
with there being no idea what time period or even reality Discovery will reside in from season 3 onward

Personally I would like a subforum for each of the announced new series.

I'll throw my two cents in:
  • Live Action
    • Current airing
      • Star Trek: Discovery
      • Star Trek: Picard
    • Past airing
      • TOS
      • TNG
      • ETC..
    • Future announced
      • Section 31
  • Animated
    • Current airing
      • Lower Decks
      • ...
    • Past airing
      • TAS
    • Future announced
      • ...
I think arranging it by dates/eras is not that important. We all know which century each show takes place in, so it's not really relevant for the forum.

My suggestion would be something simple like this:

Off the Air
TOS
TAS
TNG
DS9
VOY
ENT

Current and Future
DIS
PIC
Lower Decks
S31/Georgiou
Nickelodeon
Future of Trek

I would just put the series in chronological order of their airing time and add this subforum at the bottom for speculation about unannounced series. In the case of the four newest series, just guess when they will start airing and put them in that order. It is easy to change the order of the subforums later, if the guess was wrong.

I don't understand the thinking with Off Air & On Air?

What the devil difference does that make when we're still regularly talking about TOS & ENTERPRISE as they appear to constantly apply to current and past incidents in all the shows?

I don't see a need to indicate which Trek shows are currently being produced since anybody that comes HERE is probably already well aware of that fact.

If they want to put them just in a simple alphabetical order, that’s fine. It’s just currently they are grouped together, so the thought is they are still going to be grouped together after the rearrangement. So the question is, if you can’t group them by centuries or eras (thanks again Discovery) how you should group them.
