Who should play Spock and Captain Pike in S2?

Tuvix5675

Commander
Red Shirt
I don't know if these roles have been cast yet. There isn't any info that I've been able to find. But if it were up to you, who would you like to see cast in the roles of Spock and Captain Pike, any ideas? New actors, or digital recreation, or just use old footage? I'm for new actors, but I have no idea who. Ray Liotta kinda looks like Jeffrey Hunter, but he's probably too old to play Pike from roughly the same time period as "The Cage."

They should stick with Zachary Quinto as Spock, if they can. If not, I'm sure there's someone out there but no one is immediately springing to my mind.

As i said before on the other thread i don't know how this would work but find someone that looks like both of them then find someone who sounds like them and try do a voice over.

It would be pretty hard but it could work, like they would need to get the actor to say the lines then get the person to voice over it and try make sure it matches pretty well.

Like in Renaissance Man on STV with the doctor doing capta1n janeway voice. it shows it could be done just be hard.

Didn't someone from the show already state we definatly WON'T see Spock? I remember reading an interview with I think Alex the other day where he said they felt they couldn't fill both Leonard and Zachary's shoes with a new Spock, and just leave him as mentioned.

I hope this is true.

The danger of putting Spock in is that he's, well, Spock. Arguably the most famous Trek character. Bringing him in now to a show that's barely found its feet is just inviting the audience to look everywhere but at your cast. By the time Unification came around, Leonard Nimoy was the guest in their well established playground. But 16 episodes in? If it's more than a cameo, he'll steal the show just by virtue of who he is.

Plus, it must hardly be said that HE MUST BE CONSTANTLY SHOUTING.

This - ability to act trumps physical similarity every day. Recasting a role is a perfectly normal thing in entertainment, there's no need to be precious about it, just look for the best actor in the broad physical category.
The perfect Star Trek example in my opinion is Karl Urban as McCoy. His resemblance to DeForest Kelley is not bad, but it's his stellar acting as Dr. McCoy that makes him seem like Kelley's twin.

Indeed, that was an epic recasting. He isn't mimicking DeForest like a bad tribute act, but it is unquestionably the same character.

Yeah. As much I generally dislike recasting in Trek, Urban totally nailed it.

I would prefer they go with the Kelvin Universe actors but if they don't I will go with.

1 Pike: Ben Affleck

2 Spock: Adam Driver or the guy who played The Flash in "Justice League" or Brandon Routh.
