I cast this vote. Gabrielle Union.
And points for thinking out of the box with Gabrielle Union. (That would almost be worth it just to watch the purists' heads explode.)
As much as I can't stand the character Lois Lane I really think Erica Durance plays her really well. It would never happen but I'd be happy if it did.
Can't we update Superman for the 21st century? Make him gay, and his love interest Louis Lane?
At least you're honest as to why you favor this sort of casting. And points for thinking out of the box with Gabrielle Union. (That would almost be worth it just to watch the purists' heads explode.)

I've always wanted to see a black Lois Lane ever since I read "I am Curious (Black)" ish of Superman's Girlfriend Lois Lane.
However, there's already been a black Lois Lane in the Dallas Theater revival of the It's Superman musical — Zakiya Young. And she'd be my choice in the new movie.
I am a big proponent of out-of-the-box casting for the new movie. An Asian-American actor as Jimmy Olsen; keep the name change the ethnicity. Hell, if fanbois bitch, he can have dyed red hair.
Or how 'bout a Latino Jimmy? Or Latina Lois? Or a black Perry? Or a multi-ethnic Steve Lombard?
If Superman is to be a Caucasian, blue-eyed, black-haired Kryptonian, then his supporting cast should have a little bit more color. Hell, let's cast another multi-ethinc actor like Dean Cain... remember all the huff about that bit of casting because his eyes weren't blue.
I propose more "traditional" casting so that the next Superman doesn't become the center of another national discussion about race. People are tired of this issue.I remember Beyonce being considered for Lois in the McG/Brett Ratner era, along with Chris Rock for Jimmy Olsen. I don't think I've ever seen Gabrielle Union in anything but she would be an interesting Lois.
I think most of the ladies suggested are too young. I'm hoping that the film will be set well into Superman's career, with he and Lois in their mid-thirties. Give them some maturity and life-experience. A reboot doesn't mean we have to go all the way back to the beginning.
Teri Hatcher. I don't care that's she's like 45 she's still hot as all hell. That'd get me to see the movie.
