Who remembers the TV show "Sliders"?

That show had so much potential, but just spiraled down after the 2nd season. The only good of the later years was Kari Wuhrer .

Really enjoyed this show when it first came along all those years back. Pretty simple premise, but lots of potential for an onrunning series.

I went off the show almost immediately when Professor Arturo (can't believe I still remember his name!) was killed off and replaced by another young guy - it really nullified any diversity in the team, and besides he was one of the best characters.

About a year later I checked the show out again, and it was absolutely awful. Stuff about snakes and vampires. The fact that they were hopping between dimensions seemed beside the point.

Good lord, it wasn't THAT long ago. :)

I know.

I rolled my eyes when I read that title. Bu then it blows my mind that there are people posting here that were born in the mid 1990's.

I have food in my cupboard older than that!

I am looking forward to the day when some kid born in 2025 posts on here for Gen Stupid(those born after 2000),

"Who remembers Transformers 4?!?"

or whatever kids today love.

I watched the whole series first run, from the premiere on Fox to the "finale" on Sci-Fi. It's one of my favorite Sci-Fi shows ever, even though a good deal of it was mediocre at best.

For fans and others who are interested in the history of the show I suggest visiting The Dimension of Continuity, a very informative website featuring a lot of behind the scenes info, created by our very own TemporalFlux. :techman:

In belongs in shows that sucked after they survived cancellation.

The one fond memory I have was, my father, brother, my brother's girlfriend and I watched the first season...and at one point we decided which of us was which character.

I wound up as Rembrandt. But, hey, he's the only who survived!

The current equivalent is FlashForward, both were mangled great concepts... :(

"Generation Stupid". I'm gonna have to remember that one.:guffaw:

I feel the same way.

Oh yeah. I remember Sliders. Watched it first run from start to finish.

To me, Sliders was horrible from the beginning. But if anyone has read my posts, they would know I tend to watch even bad shows. Yet I only watched a little bit of Sliders. I lost interest quickly. I never saw all of first season. I remember seeing parts of other seasons in reruns.

I was born when Kennedy was President...

Ooh, I remember this. I watched it as a child. Lost track eventually, I think when they changed it from the simple parallel world of the week format. How did it end?

This is really a show that needs a reboot. The format is great to explore social, technological, political, etc issues.

I agree but it won't ever (when at least for now) happen. I think there are some legal issues and such.
